Roberto Mancini - next Italy manager

Given their respective starting points at city in respect of squad depth and league starting position, Pep will have to serious rip up trees to get even close to achieving as much as Mancini did. Whilst a title and a cup win in 3 years would be a good return for pep in the next 3 years it would mean he had seriously underachieved when put next to mancinis record. Ironic that the club undermined Bobby (and Pellers) in order to begin a 3 year long sojourn for pep. 2 titles and 2 cups in 3 seasons would put pep on about par when comparing the two.

I think this is what is exciting about the arrival of Pep, like with Mancini we will see an improvement overnight in our shape and tactics and watch players develop.

I loved the way the club evolved. We were conceding 3 goals at home to the likes of Burnley, Sunderland and literally overnight and with the same players we started to keep clean sheets and have a pattern to our play.

Next season the best defence in the league, won the cup and qualified for Champs lge. Following year stated we need more goals and added Aguero, Nasri to the mix and retained the solidity of having the best defence but scored 93 as well playing the most breathtaking of football.

He did all this in two year and has pretty much bought the whole spine of the team Yaya, Silva, Aguero, Clichy, Nasri which subsequent success has been built on. As well as improving the likes of Kompany, Zab, Richards and reinventing Yaya into one of the most destructive midfielders in world football.

Literally in two years we went from a side playing the likes of Sylvinho, Ireland, Bridge, Kolo to a side being unbeaten at home all season and recording a manmoth 89 points. With the current squad, the foundations already laid, and all the investment we cannot get high 70s.

It is one of the reasons I am so positive about Pep. His starting position is far in advance of when Mancini took over and with his obvious talent it all bodes well for the future.

Mancini will always be a hero of mine. Forget the title, he stood up to that whisky nosed clown from across the way and made him back down. No one else did that.
This.
That night at the Etihad when he stood up to bacon face will always be remembered.
The Colin Bell stand to a man roared him on that night.
Sadly the board in his eyes did not try hard enough to get RVP and the rest as they say is history.

I've said it before, but the night of the 1-0 (VK, rags no shots on target), when Bobby and GPC faced off on the touch line, it was fucking hilarious.

I still reckon the HSS had never had anyone stand up to him like that before.

I can sympathise with Bobby here, my mum and dad went on holiday to the States so asked them to get me a New York Giants football helmet. I was buzzing all week as mine was just a crap one I used to practice in. The fuckers only went and brought be back a cap with their logo on it!! imagine explaining that to my mates after bragging all week.

After asking for Hazzard, RVP and De Rossi I bet Bobby left a steaming turd in the directors box after turning up for training and seeing Garcia and Sinclair parking up!
