Roberto Mancini

Mancini has done it himself by having a sly dig at the club...

7, 6...Ok I'll bite. What was the sly dig?

Ok rephrase not a total dig as some of his previous ones but he has recently been quoted as saying how he felt he was badly treated and how we still win with his team - yadda yadda yadda

As said before - time to move on for all

When you say dig, did you really mean fact?

Oh God. We are going to relive 2012/2013 all over again. Quick recap.

Mancini hired.
Mancini won things.
Mancini resigned.
Mancini un-resigned and screwed new contract out of club.
Mancini thought Marwood was a useless c**t.
Mancini had hump for 12 months due to Marwood being aforesaid useless whatsit.
Mancini didn't win things.
Mancini sacked.

PS: No one liked him (aside from those that did but we don't talk about that)

PPS: It was all 18 months ago, has been talked to death and then some and no one fucking cares any more but it seems we still have to go through it every time someone gets a bit nostalgic about the Bobster. Its in the terms and CoC apparently.

You fucking hypocrite.

You and the rest of the squad, like mushrooms after rain following a defeat, have spent the entirety of this thread trying to get a rise from the people who proved you all wrong before.

And now one or two have bitten with a few hard truths you go jumping on the moral high ground.

I fucking hate mewling cowards like you.

And like night follows fucking day. And the rest in 10, 9, 8...

You and your pals (the leader of whom is a United WUM) have spent two days poking at a hornet's nest and then gone running to Mummy when a few come out and bite you. "We were only showing Bob our love!"

Fuck off. Hypocrites. The thread is full of balloons giving it "Anyone who wanted him gone is Paul Calf/Colin Schindler/A wanker", totally disregarding the fact that The Sheikh and Khaldoon also wanted him gone. And so, ultimately, has every other boss he's had in the last ten years.

Show the man as much love as you want. I've got no problem with that whatsoever. But if you go around trying to light fires don't act all affronted when you get your fingers burnt by those "wankers/pricks/rags" who were ultimately proved resoundingly right by the actions of the club.

To save another few graceful leaps to the moral high ground, this is not directed at anybody who wishes to post their undying love for our deposed manager. It's directed at the hypocrites who've desperately tried to restart a war they've already lost over the last few days by expressing their faux-indignation at those of us who wanted him out.

Good luck to Roberto Mancini in his new job. And thanks for the memories.

So no dig then.

As for moving on well did that months ago. Winning the League Cup for me was the clincher. I'm a sucker for a manager that wins things. Yeah I know shallow.

As for the Church of the Latter Day Dismalians devoted to eradicating the gospel of Bobby and the sacred scarf. Well do us all a favour and have a word as they are still intent on boring us into an early grave.

Yeah, you're so bored you keep clicking on his thread.

As I said, you're a hypocrite.

I have pals? Hey my day is looking up. But at least we do have a glimmer of understanding that there is a marked difference between those who do wish to spark trouble and those of us who are capable of being simultaneously (a) very happy with our lot right now and (b) retain a considerable affection for our time under Mancini and the man himself.

And for what its worth people wishing to cause trouble are found on both sides of the Mancini fault line so, and this is Bob's top tip for the day, try practising what you preach.

I'll never understand any City fan that has a hatred and bitterness towards Mancini

I can understand people agreeing it was best that he was to leave the club because of what went on behind the scenes. But I can't get my head around those that can't bring themselves to admit that he did a great job for us

yup thats where i pretty much stand as well.

Understand why he had to go as his personality was very abrasive with players and staff...however i believe our style of play was more balanced with him in charge. I was hugely critical of Mancini when he first arrived as for the first few months we barely seemed to attack any team...mancini was trying desperately to shore up the defensive mess that Hughes had caused which he did very well at in the end. The season we won the league he really got the balance right and we played lovely attacking football but were also hard to score against. The next season was a let down.we didnt play as well and the signings made were poor (I personally couldnt care less about what went on behind the scenes especially regarding Mancini vs Marwood as I'm with Mancini on that one!) If he resigned and hen came back as has been said on here he is entitled to do so if he thought he was being undermined by marwood etc. However RM's biggest fault was that (from what i can gather from other peoples posts on here) is that he couldnt/wouldnt share power with the likes of Txixi et al. That is his mistake as it lost him his job and they are the ones ultimately in charge.

What I will never agree with is some of the things Ive glimpsed on here claiming that it wasnt down to Mancini that we wont the league......and not giving him his proper credit where is certainly due.

As for the new manager......I fully support him though again Ive been very critical of him especially with again the lack of balance to the team (complete opposite of what RM did when he first came in)....make no mistake, Pellers is very responsible for the lack of poor defending/defensive set up of the team. Its been there since the first game in charge (when we beat Newcastle 4-0 iirc)......we blew them away that game but even then you could see the huge defensive holes in our tactics and they still remain. Does he deserve the chance to get it right...absolutely he does even if we dont win things this season (in said the same regarding Mancini)...if it continues next season and the we continue to struggle with an arguably better squad than we have ever had then he deserves to get the sack as Mancini did (though that was for more than footballing reasons as previously stated)

It would be hypocritical of anyone that wanted Mancini gone not to want Pellers to go if fails this season and next.

If we do turn it around this season then it will be all down to Pellers and he will rightly receive all the praise that can be given to him

Mancini fault line? Ah, it's dejavu time - has anyone posted the grinning Roberto in the dugout yet? And where's Billy Shears when you need him.
The timing of his recent interview, was that random, or transfer window specific?
So much came out at the time and since about the way he managed the club, that it's a fair question to ask, as TH did earlier, how much of the growth and success was actually down to Mancini. No one can or will ever take away his place in our history, but the case for him leaving when he did is so compelling and difficult to argue against
