Roberto Mancini

Heard it all now.

There is only one man responsible for building this club and the fantastic infrastructure and it wasn't fucking Mancini.

He continues to play to the peanut gallery, however, with his comments about City. He knows plenty will lap it up and continue to peddle the narrative he was wronged to paint the owners in a bad light.

I meant 'team' so apologies for the false bait presented to you there

argue if you must but we all know the core of this squad and the transformation of being 8th to champions is down to the work of Mancini

The team is part of the infrastructure.

The core of this squad and transformation is down to cold hard cash, something Mancini pissed and moaned about when he realised the tap was being turned off and he would actually have to try and manage a dressing room.

As for some of the other revisionism, City twice before attempted to sign Yaya before Mancini arrived. Cook also only signed Aguero on the owners' authority, as Mancini had put all his eggs in one basket with Sanchez.

If it was as simple as being transformed from 8th to champions, more clubs than us would be winning titles. Mancini was afforded the resources, nothing more. Class will out.

Hughes was just a sub-standard pre-cursor.

Without wanting to compare apples and oranges, Pellegrini also won a double in his first season in a foreign country. Having finished 12 points behind a piss poor United team, the season before, and losing in an FA Cup Final to Wigan.

Is Pellegrini a managerial genius, I don't consider him so. Resources and infrastructure.

Same reason every other manager who comes in will be a success in varying shades of degrees in the coming years ahead.

You should be on the board of directors pal you know it all dont you?

You call it sarcasm, but I believe it's what many think, those hoodwinked by the Mancini myth.

The owner is responsible for everything the club is today, he was the man who decided to sack the hired help.

Why has nobody had a go at our owner or Khaldoon for sacking Mancini?

Because those Mancini apologists don't have the bollocks to admit they don't want to be seen biting the hand that feeds it.

We lived on scraps for so long, too many believe we will still go back to whence we came, and Saint Bob was as good as it will ever get.

He showed his contempt for our club for 12 months before he was sacked, Hitler's scorched Earth policy 101.

Ah, the usual default. I'm merely expressing an opinion, just as you are.

Question, would you be angry if say Brendan Rodgers came out yesterday and publicly tapped up one of our players?

Does Mancini get a pass?

I expressed my affection for a person who helped our club continue to grow yet the response I get was out of blown out of context, in regards to publicly tapping a player up its not like yaya didn't publicly state he wanted to leave so couldnt give a toss about him in my opinion its all part of football.

my love for the man cant be described as he started off what all us blues deserved and built an infrastructure at our fantastic club for many years to come with help from sheikh mansour (GOD). Like he states in his interview he loves us and 99% of blues agree he should still be head of the thrown in my eyes because of what he did but I do admire pellegrini as does RM because he is a quality manager but how any city fan can slag RM off absolutely puzzles me.

Having heard most of the interview in question I must have missed the narrative peddling. Mancini did say that Pellers was a good and experienced manager and didn't go down the 'Pellers must win trophies or be sacked' route despite it being teed up for him. I also seem to recall in a written interview he said that City were in safe hands with Txiki and Ferran as they understood football. There was nothing remotely contentious in anything Mancini said. All it did was prompt a bit of Bobby love on here which is really the problem you and some others have.

A lot of fans love the Bobster. I'm sure there are a lot of fans who love Pellers - hell there are some who for bizarre personal reasons have high regard and fondness for Hughes. Football and being a fan means we are prone to the odd man crush now and then.

So in the words of the song. Let it go. For the sake of everyone's sanity just accept people have fond memories of Bobby and shut the fuck up. Pretty please. Thanks.

A poor last year with us.
Move on..
If we finish second this season, having exited both cups early, and going out to Barcelona is it much better?
No it's not better but were still in January with a lot still to play for.
Remember Pellegrini has only been with us 18 months.
That's true, but that is already halfway through his contract and you could easily he took charge with a much better squad already in place.

I'm not sure we've improved and I don't think we've regressed. It would have been interesting to see Mancini without Tevez / Balotelli etc.

Oh God. We are going to relive 2012/2013 all over again. Quick recap.

Mancini hired.
Mancini won things.
Mancini resigned.
Mancini un-resigned and screwed new contract out of club.
Mancini thought Marwood was a useless ****.
Mancini had hump for 12 months due to Marwood being aforesaid useless whatsit.
Mancini didn't win things.
Mancini sacked.

PS: No one liked him (aside from those that did but we don't talk about that)

PPS: It was all 18 months ago, has been talked to death and then some and no one fucking cares any more but it seems we still have to go through it every time someone gets a bit nostalgic about the Bobster. Its in the terms and CoC apparently.
