Roberto Mancini

We can all have a wide variety of opinions on Bobby of course and I get that but I say in the simplest possible terms if anyone in this forum doesn’t have a lifetime’s worth of loyalty to and love for Roberto Mancini then you just are not a City fan.
A lot better than I generally put it..........

Which was a Mancini mistake, he played pants every round until the final and put Hart back in. Pants probably saves that goal just by being taller. You are right though, he deserves the love he gets.
Pants had also just announced that he wasn't sticking around so Mancini made the executi decision to play the keeper that was going to be staying at the club........

Any City manager, whose side puts six past the rags, should hold a special place in the heart of every Blue.

But it was everything else - including tearing down that fucking banner, winning our first trophy for 35 years and our first league title for 44 years - that Bobby did, which will endear him to us for a very long time.

He got the club. He got the rivalry. He put the GPC in his box and put rag dominance into reverse. He would never have thrown a derby. He spoke as he found. Also signed and/or nurtured some iconic players.

Doesn‘t matter if Pep is the “better manager” overall but you’re the fcukin weirdo if you don‘t understand why Mancini remains so popular.
Of course it matters if Pep is a better manager, it’s all that matters.
Doesn’t make Mancini’s time any less of the great manager he was for us. Just that Peps better.

Is it fcuk all that matters when it comes to fondness/appreciation. Mourinho’s a better manager than almost everyone, when trophies are the criterion, but he’s still a cnut. Would you have welcomed him to the Etihad?

I am not making a criticism of his achievements whilst at City, he was the right man at that time, he left us with great memories and shattered the dominance of the rag cunts.

He outstayed his time though and whilst he is charming and has nice hair, it does not detract from his arrogance, petulance and his self absorption. He left City with a dressing room in a state of civil war, he was rude, obnoxious and downright dismissive of people at the club.

His faults have been well documented by former players and that came to a head in the Wigan FA Cup final.

There is little point comparing him to any other manager we have had, they all have their foibles, it is Mancini's that were pronounced.
Its up the players whether they want to get the rats on with him because he didn't say hello to Chappy or whatever his biggest crime was, but they also seem to completely ignore that a lot of them have never played better under any other manager throughout their career (obviously some of it is circumstantial / player maturity etc etc).

With most successful managers, they get the credit for their impact on a club over whatever period that is measured.

I always find it strange when his seem to be measured and caveated differently - in short without Roberto, Pep never even looks at our club.............

Unfortunately, there are plenty of haters.
