Roberto Mancini

He did that, mate.

May 2011 yaya smashing the ball into the back of the Stoke net, we probably were not but felt like we were clinging on to a lead. This guy Bobby Manc took us over the line when the 30 odd years before we couldn't. Fuck me he even stuck Garrido on free kick duties 2 games into his reign and he scored.

Did anyone read the BBC website article ?

Apparently we all missed a League Cup win by Roberto.....

The Inter Milan boss guided City, now managed by Manuel Pellegrini, to a first league title for 44 years in the 2011-12 season.

He also won the FA Cup and League Cup during his three-year spell, and clearly his affection remains.

I'm glad he's still one of us as a fan, and clearly we made an impression big enough for that, and he was very good for us, but I'm also glad we've moved on too.

Well, maybe the decision to let him go was the right one. Maybe he was too confrontational.

But no manager will ever be able to connect with the fans as much. He got it, he understood how much beating United, winning the league and stuffing them meant to us and he had the sheer arrogance to stand up to that scumbag.

I really hope he does well with inter.

What a man. Shame though I feel like many others of our title winning squads have been forgotten by the match going fans wouldn't hurt to still have a chant for Mancini or Dzeko both are a massive part of our history

Bang on the money. The dignity both he and the players showed at the 6-1 was a thing of beauty - after the game as well. Can you imagine the fucking scenes if they'd turned us over at our gaff by that score? Yep, I'm sure Ferdinand, Rooney and that **** Ferguson would have been as dignified in victory. CUNTS....

We sit in 328, so we had a perfect view of Bobby's little spat with GPC during the 1-0 (VK) win in the title-winning season.

That incident, as much as any other during his tenure at Eithad, proved that he wasn't going to be bullied by the pisscan or any other manager. If Roberto wasn't a City legend after the FA Cup win the previous season, he became one that night, IMHO.

I was at the parade when we won the FA Cup. I caught his eye at the back of the bus and shouted 'Thanks Bobby' ,he mouthed 'Thankyou' back at me . . He's been a God to me ever since .I know his ego was a huge problem in City's corporate world but I miss that connection with the fans. Pelligrini is a very decent bloke but he's never going to be a Mancini or a Klopp. Bobby shared that rollercoaster emotional tsunami we went on and will forever be a part of our DNA.

We named our grandson Bobby after him, he did what he said ripped that tick tock Trafford banner down, made those arseholes put their heads in their hands

Count me in on the love-fest. Putting aside the arguments about how good a manager he was, or whether he should have gone when he did, he's a City legend and I assume he'll get an amazing welcome if he ever brings a team to the Etihad.

I don't miss him and l think Pellegrini is class. More so if you see so many managers acting like clowns within this already fecked up world of football. And the players feel very comfortable with him and that's what it's all about.
I will never ever forget what Mancini did for us and nobody will. The fact our board sacked him in time makes that only fond memories are left behind. I'm convinced if he'd stayed he would have messed things up completely.
I ran into Mancini and his staff at Nero's near Piccadilly, had a nice chat and made him even look after my coffee when l had to collect my sandwich. No. I never forget Mancini.

Love the guy and now I find myself following inter Milan to see how they get on....probably more to do with trying to catch the interview with Bobby. Did the same when he was in Turkey. Gone but not forgotten.

I'm same , plus Jovetic being there, good times but we need to move on, have a bet on Inter for Coppa Italia, in first full season at Fiorentina, Lazio, Inter, City and Gala he won the cup

Love these two press conferences. He had a good connection with City fans. The second one is the only one I can find of the post 6-1 where he talks about United fans' reaction to the match so you have to put up with bleeps and Noel Gallagher and the guys who does City Square stuff. Not sure why!!
