Yep.

Kinky was a naturally gifted and talented player, but to even put him in the same league as Robbie is ridiculous.

Kinky never sustained the talent he showed in glimpses.

Why do you have to play for a big club to be classed as a good player?

Who said that?

People keep making out that if Kinky played with better players he would have been even better, but the only time he was with a decent squad he couldn't cut it. You can make excuses for him not making it as Ajax, but if he was as good as people are trying to make out he would have made it elsewhere at the top level. Not descended to the likes of Derby, Anorthosis Famagusta and Rubin Kazan

The way you said "if he was as good as evryone says he would have made it elsewhere, he didn't even come close" and "but if he was as good as people are trying to make out he would have made it elsewhere at the top level" says to me you don't think he was as good as everyone is saying because he didn't make it at a big club. Just because you haven't or don't play for a big club does not mean you are any less of a player otherwise that would be saying John O'Shea and Darren Fletcher were better players than Kinkladze because they were at a big club and won trophies.

The same argument would of been used against Ireland if he was sold to Sunderland at the start of the season. Those like me who have always said he was a great player would of been defending him once again like i am doing with Kinkladze because we might of not seen him reach the potential his ability deserved to. Great players look good in a shit team surrounded by shit players. Great players look different class surrounded by great players in a good team. Ireland has that and is showing us all his true ability. KInkladze never got to show us his true ability because he was surrounded by shit players and mediocre ones at Ajax.

Look at Elano, i beleive he would of had even more assists and goals last season if the players he was threading the balls to were on the same wavelength as him. Owen or Anelka would of had hatfuls last season if either were in our side because they are intelligent players who make great runs and find great posistions for themselves. When you have the likes of Benjani and Bianchi who are not on the same wavelength as Elano you don't get the best out of him. Excatly the same why we never got the best our of Kinkladze because no one in the side was on the same wavelength as him.

Maybe being involved in a side that suffered two relegations put sides off purchasing him? We will never know but he was a great player who's ability should of achieved him so much more than it did. Can you imagine any other top european sides purchasing a player from a team that had just been relegated to League One for £5m which was alot of money at that time? He was at the right club at the wrong time, Kinkladze in our side now would of been magnificent, more so than he was for us originally.

If Kinkladze was Brazilian not Georgian we would have never seen him wear a City shirt and IMO he would have gone down as one of the greatest of all time. We managed to get him somehow when no one else had discovered him and it turned out to be his downfall.

Fat el Hombre, you mustnt have followed City in those days if you cant recognise how good he was, either that or are just a bad judge of football player.

Exactly, you only have to watch that youtube video to see how special he was. And before anyone says 'he didnt do it every week' and all that shit, I challenge you to find a collection of clips from any player over 2 or 3 seasons that will impress me more. They are only the clips people can get hold of aswell, some of the stuff he used to do was frightening.

No doubting that on his day Kinky was excellent, but who remembers games like Port Vale away on a wet Tuesday night when the Blues got on his back because he never moved out of the centre circle?
He was very inconsistent but I must say that we were that bad the only highlight of some games was a little flick or a twisting run that he produced.

please dont tell me robbie dosent go missing both very similar when the goings good so are they
if its not they dissappear, difference with robbie is the goals

i agree

What are you talking about at all? Top level means top level, it doesn't mean big club. Top level could have been another club like us, but he didn't even cut it at Derby
