Not worried about Manure in the least. RVP will want Rooney wages and they can't afford it.

Chelsea is the one I'm worried about. Hopefully it's like Castles said, the personal details were worked out months ago and the bidding is all that's left.

if rvp goes to manyoo i will take every member of bluemoon out for a curry followed by a tour of town and a free bar!! (for 48 hrs)

A free bar you say? Fergie sign him up.

Not a rag. I am worried about FFP and disrupting what is already a fantastic array of strikers. As for the story above linkin him to the rags, I hope he goes there. The 400 plus million will continue to grow ...

The interesting thing that he stated was the plans for the future between himself and Wenger / the board and them not agreeing with them. I'd be heavily concerned if your main man is making those comments.

I'm not sure whether he will come to City or not. I don't overly care because I place my trust in HRH Sheikh Mansour, Dr. Khaldoon Al Mubarek & Roberto Mancini's judgement from a business perspective and for footballing reasons if they are to acquire him.

I want the best for this club and if that includes Robin Van Persie contributing to the success of it then so be it. He's not the first player on my list that of strikers who I would like to see here, but he is still very clinical up front and his prior season proven that.

I'd love him here, can't believe some people are turning their noses up at him! This is Robin van Persie for fucks sake!

This isnt all aimed at you but...

Why are you worried about it? Are you bankrolling the club? FFPR will never be fully enforced, hence Chelsea, PSG et al spending wildly or at least suggesting they will. Even the rags are trying to scrape a penny or two together to fund something, anything, they can to try and keep up. Clubs will find a loophole or at least all be clued up as to where they can and cant spend legally.

With regards to RvP, as has already been mentioned he would improve us and all this talk of "injury prone" is all hyped. Whats to say Aguero doesnt pull a back muscle and be forever a risk? Every man and his dog is wanking over the thought of De Rossi but its noted he struggles with his back so whats different? RvP is a quality player regardless of what some like to believe. I'm also amused by peoples talk of "he slagged us off" well so did Tevez while he was being paid by the club before fucking off to play golf for 5 months! Yet people now suggest he should be kept or is needed.

IMO for what its worth (not much I know), I think we should go buy the guy, all the talk of "we should be buying Cavani" etc means nothing. Those harping on about it assume he'd even want to come to City, we cant buy players because a few fans like them, it doesnt make good business sense at all. We will buy because the boss thinks it will improve us, and who are we to argue? Have we played the game at that level? Managed an international or domestic team in the premier league? Or do we have these opinions because we have an Xbox or playstation and like to think we know it all?

Our club will have a plan, they will know who and what they want. I'd be surprised if they hadnt already sorted it all out. Stop flapping people and rest assured our club is in good hands on and off the pitch, whatever happens and whoever joins us the bluemoon is certainly rising.

So the best argument for RVP is OK we may not like it, but trust in Mancini.

And still no evidence that we are in for him.

from The Times

Arsenal are facing a battle to prevent a player exodus this summer after Robin van Persie’s announcement yesterday that he will not extend his contract at the club.
The Holland striker’s refusal to extend a deal that has one year left could lead to the departure of Theo Walcott, who has entered the final 12 months of his contract and has intimated that he will not re-sign without a renewed commitment from the club captain.
Van Persie’s incendiary statement, which took Arsenal by surprise, dismissed this possibility out of hand, as well as condemning the board’s plans for the future of the club. In an implicit criticism of Arsène Wenger’s summer signings, Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, Van Persie cited differences over Arsenal’s future direction as an explanation for his reluctance to re-sign, although in reality he was firing the first shots in what is likely to become a prolonged campaign to force through a transfer to Manchester City.
The champions have established through third parties that Van Persie, 28, wants to join them and are prepared to offer him a four-year contract worth £200,000 a week, more than double his Arsenal wages.
Wenger is furious at having his authority questioned, but despite his disappointment at his captain’s conduct is not prepared to let him leave without a fight. Arsenal responded with a statement that Van Persie would see out the remainder of his contract, but whether they are prepared to hold him against his will and risk writing off a £20 million-plus transfer fee remains to be seen.
Wenger was similarly defiant regarding Cesc Fàbregas and Samir Nasri last summer, but ultimately they were sold to Barcelona and City respectively. “We have to respect Robin’s decision not to renew his contract,” Arsenal’s statement read. “Robin has one year to run on his current contract and we are confident that he will fulfil his commitments to the club.”
Wenger has signed two international strikers in Podolski and Giroud, but Van Persie is unimpressed with either. “It has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward,” he said.
Van Persie attracted the attention of several leading European clubs during a stellar season, but with Real Madrid’s interest cooling, Juventus and City are the only likely bidders.
Arsenal would be reluctant to sell another leading player to City, with whom they have a difficult relationship after their purchases of Kolo Touré, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gaël Clichy and Nasri in the past three years, but Van Persie has little interest in joining Juventus despite a recent visit to Turin.
Roberto Mancini, the City manager, has openly discussed their interest in Van Persie and has urged his employers to make a formal bid, although an offer is unlikely to be imminent as the board’s priority is offloading their unwanted strikers, including Adebayor, Carlos Tévez and Roque Santa Cruz.
Arsenal’s willingness to hold Van Persie to the final year of his contract is complicated by the fact that they are facing a similar situation with Walcott, and the unpalatable prospect of writing off up to £50 million worth of playing assets. The England winger’s preference is to stay at Arsenal, but he is close to Van Persie and shares his concerns about the future of the club.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are both monitoring Walcott’s situation.
