lol JTU - one final point though, a lot of the people who are saying united are fucked and not a threat are the same people who are moaning that we are not making enough signings to progress - I think they are a tad confused

Anyways... about this Van Persie bloke....

Which one?

The one who is too old, no re sale value, no better than what we have, always injured, who is a complete c@nt.

Or

World class player, who was top scorer in our league, kept Arsenal singlehandedly in Europe and with our team would score a bucket of goals.

Be funny if City and United were working on this together, both pulling out at the last minute, leaving a pissed off RVP with the Arse.

The litmus test of a season is that whoever finishes ahead of 'Nited will likely win the title. We achieved that last season by the skin of our teeth. They will be stronger next season with or without Van Persie, but I believe we will too, not least because:

1. our group of winners is on the next year of their development as a team.

2. we shall strenghten with a couple of purchases, though I do not think that they will include RVP; rather we shall probably look to Martinez or DDR and another defender, whilst off loading Kolo, Weiss, RSC and (hopefully) Adebayor.

Keep the faith fellas

I detest manchester united with a passion which comes from 53 years of having to listen to them and their arrogant ways, and listen about them from their sycophanstic media friends BUT can we ffs stop talking about them as if they are finished - we pipped them to it last season when they had a shit team, they will likely have a better team this time round and we would ignore their threat at our peril - I have been reading in this forum for 3 years + that they are no longer a threat but they still are - thanks fuck Bobby is not as ignorant and arrogant as we are on this issue - they are used to winning games on a scrappy basis, they are used to getting more decisions going for them than against them from shit officials, and that will not suddenly disappear (I hope it fucking does, mind)

Quite correct, never underestimate your enemy. If they sign him they will have a strikeforce second to none. We won the league last season through the skin of our teeth, they are the team to beat and finish above. I do think they have money issues (Glazers I just love them) and I do think that their debt has caused a slowing down on the buying side. In the old days they would have thought nothing about blowing 30 -35m on a player, they did and created new British transfer records as they went along. I believe they have one arm tied behind their backs in the transfer market and that has allowed us to match them but again IMO we haven't overtaken them completely.

We haven't overtaken any of the top teams completely, any of them could suddenly discover the next Messi & sign a couple of players & that's football.

We can't sign every fucker to stop it from happening though & some of the comments on here almost suggest that we should.

We can only do what's best for our team & if Mancini thinks there is nobody he wants, other than the targets we are chasing, then so be it.

We will strengthen the team when we can & challenge for silverware forever.

That's all we can do.

OK, I've not kept up to date with this thread, as I'm in work during the day and can't read through everything, so I don't know if this has been covered. I read on some site earlier today that we were his least favourite of the 3 options. Although this can't be confirmed until he does sign for someone, has anyone seen this in any of the quotes from him (I read it on a transfer site)?

Personally matey I think that's bollocks.
Several theories, including one that could be his agent driving up his salary offer from us
I've no doubt at all that Nasri and Clichy will have been chatting to RVP, leaving him under no illusion that there's plenty to be won by us and money to be earned

IMHO though, I only see RVP going to Italy. That's if an Italian club matches his salary expectations
I hope we don't sign him, as all I envisage is another Santa Cruz situation. A stack of money for a player who's always on the treatment table

A quick question, who would everyone say were the two stand out center forwards at the Euro's?

Mario, Gomez

Definitely not Torres. he scored against ireland and against 10 men Italy when they were exhausted.

His dad reportedly said that a while back, though I think he was against RVP joining any other team in the Premier League..leaving just Juventus as an option..

Mancini fears City are losing chase for wantaway Arsenal skipper Van Persie

Roberto Mancini fears Manchester City have lost the initiative in the scramble for Robin van Persie's signature.
Arsenal had been bracing themselves for another approach from City when the teams meet for a friendly in Beijing on Friday but this may not happen.
Mancini has become increasingly unhappy that the Barclays Premier League champions have dithered, possibly missing their chance to capture his prime target, who has told the Gunners he will not sign a new deal when his current one expires next year.

Just need to get rid of adebayor and the transfers should begin
i agree with this, hes not even playing for us and we're paying him a huge wage to train in the reserves. this matters, we need to get rid of him and i pray that we can move him before the 31st next month. i would be more happy if we got rid of him and signed no one then signing someone and sending him out on loan/training with reserves

Dailymail is saying Juve will pay him 190k after taxes......I mean what happened to make thing up and making it sound credible? Its like they are not even trying anymore

It's hysterical.. Italian football is fooked once again and the old lady still insists on puffing her chest out.
