Dzeko needs a consistent run in the team. I see him as a striker who's always good for a goal a game when played regularly, but he's got to play regurlarly or he loses his touch, rhythm and confidence. He gets in the right places often enough. Bobby rested him after the spurs game when he should have left him in, but we won the league, so it doesn't really matter!

100% agree, never should of rested him after spurs, when a striker is on fire in a purple patch like he was early season you just don't rest them. But as you say we won the league so we cannot criticise.

But Aguero and Tevez will undoubtedly, and rightly so, be the first choice strike force this season if we don't sign RVP.

Not according to Mancio.Mancini doesn`t like playing with two dwarves up front.

Well then that Mancio fella wants to ask himself what Mancini did in the 3 most important games in the clubs history at the back end of last season when all 4 strikers were fit and available to play.

Tevez and Aguero have been on fire together pre season, tearing pretty much every back line they've come up against to shreds. Mancini has said as much himself, so Mancio will be proved wrong in the coming weeks.

Couldn't care less.

12 months left on a contract for a win-nothing club, scored loads of goals in one good season, another horrendously inflated transfer fee, after stupid wages, pushing thirty, we've already got excellent strikers. I am bored to fucking death by Robin Van Persie.
Spot on, let's strengthen more important areas like the defence.

Although I don't really want RVP here disrupting our volatile forwards, he is arguably just what the Rags need while Welbeck and others continue to develop. With Vidic back and RVP joining Shrek up front, they will undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with. It should be another cracking season.
Bring it on I say!

moronic post of the year

4 against spuds, as well as the most important equalizer ever.
WHilst I don't agree with the poster you are berating, he did say "bar the odd game" which would probably include the Spuds game and QPR equaliser.

He was making the point that Dzeko wasn't consistant and as such, the post I am quoting doesn't prove him wrong.

1) If I'm reading his post correctly, by the "baring odd game" he is saying that majority of Edin's games were "shocking" (bad) last season. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

2) Edin had 18 or 19 goals on his account last season, some of them very vital to our title run (let's not count them again).

By simple logic, you cannot have both "shocking" season and that many goals on your account (you cannot have 1 and 2 above at the same time).

So, he (the poster) is getting ripped for not being able to apply simple logic to his post - and rightfully so.

And I agree, I was just making the point that choosing two games did not prove the other poster wrong.

Your post would have been a better riposte to him.

Dzeko was brilliant in the first 3 games of the season but after than I cant remember a single game where he stood out, even games where he scored such as liverpool in the cc, wolves at home and wigan I still thought his overall performances was poor. What games would say he performed well in besides the opening month of the season?

Arsenal away in CC. He didnt score but i thought he played very well. Also wigan away in league he had a very good game overall.

I do get what you mean but it is difficult to find a striker who is both very good and happy to sit on bench and come on and make a difference all the time.

Rags were very lucky to have Solskjaer to do this for many seasons.

If we did sell Dzeko surely we should just stik with the 3 we have and have Guidetti as number 4 striker ?

Thought he was really poor against Arsenal as was the whole team that night we were playing there 2nd team but they still dominated, he did help create the goal though tbf, against Wigan good header but he doesn't influence the play like Tevez or Aguero do which imo he should be doing for a 27 million pound striker something I think rvp could do.
