robin van persie (continued)

Wish people would chill. We won the league because we had by far the best squad. Bacon is desperate to win the league so he can retire at the top so expect him to buy again, panic buy

Van Persie moving from Arsenal to the rags won't effect us too much imo. The player stays in the league at one of our main rivals. Rags problem last season wasn't really scoring goals, it was conceding them and losing midfield battles against hard working and technically adept teams like Newcastle. This is a transfer which, whichever way you look at it, smacks of desperation on their part to be seen to be reacting to losing the league to City. Personally I look forward to City winning the league again and the drunken Scot's subsequent resignation.

The team with the best defence usually wins the league. This is why we urgently need to buy a top quality centre back to replace Savic.

Any chance you could read the CB cover thread where I got slaughtered for saying Savic was a poor player. He is a liability and is stealing a living here. That was before the CS game where he also happened to be fucking dire, nearly got 2 yellows in the first half ffs. Just sell the twat. In all fairness if Kolo is pissed that he can't get a game then I agree being as Savic got a start. I'd see myself as 3rd choice and if Savic started ahead of me I'd be majorly pissed off.

We had the best defensive record in the league last season. I fully expect us to have the same again this season. Cover for VK/JL would be nice, but isn't imperative whilst KT is still in the squad. I'm sure that if he's sold, then that will be because we have a replacement lined up. It would be a shame to sign someone who pushed JL to the bench. Him and VK deserve another season as our first choice pairing IMO.

I don't beeeeeelieve it!!!

Think this is a big mistake by us and will bite us on the arse!

Rooney and RVP!!

We might hold them out but i dont think many other teams will!!

And before anyone goes on about our strikeforce just look at sunday we totally dominated did not score then Chelsea had one chance which fell to Torres who smashed it the net!

We could done with a one chance one goal striker like RVP!

Dont normally do this but I hope RVP gets injured against everton next monday night!

If city had signed him which striker would make way ?, Tevez has the hunger back and Sergio is Sergio then there is a back up striker in Mario who was one of the best at Euro 2012 ...... we need a center half, playmaking midfielder and a left winger before another striker .......

A very good reply. And in response to Wrighty Wrexham I have moved the moth balls off my white flag.

Real just won the league, they have bought Modric.

Chelsea won the CL and FA Cup, they have signed Hazard, Marin, Oscar, De Bruyne and are still looking for a RB.

Bayern finished runners up in CL and have bought Martinez, Mandzucic and Shaqiri.

Juventus won their league, unbeaten I may add. They are looking to sign a striker and have already strengthened with a few players like Lucio for example.

Why should we be different?

why are we all quoting £24mil? Its £35m with salary - thats what would be said about us
£65m with salary - unless the reports of £200k for 4 years were wrong

Now Goal.com is reporting that the total deal is around £73mil after adding image rights.
RVP's wages is effectively £235k per week..

Precisely, our strongest area is in attack. Other areas are far more important to strengthen. Great signing for them but I wouldnt want to see us upset the balance upfront which has formed.

Make no mistake, the Dark Side are stronger with RVP.
Yes, but Rooney and Welbeck weren't the weak link were they?

Leaves the full back positions exposed, with Rio, Scholes and Giggs still key squad players

I don't disagree with that, but it's not inconsistent with my point ;0)
