Yeah but City refused Mancini's wish to sign Eto'o last summer because he had no resell value at the age of 30 according to some of the more respectable newspapers. Van Persie will be pushing 30 this time next year so does the same logic apply there?

Eto'o was never an option last summer mate!!! He blow his chance previously when he wanted more time and khaldhoon pulled the plug and we got Ade.

I fucking hate this whole re-sale argument, you purchase a player to get the very best out of him, not to have for him for about 3 years and sell him for about £8m-10m more. If we sign Van Persie, it'll be so we can get him in his prime years, not so we can sell him at 32 ffs.

We make way too many excuses for Dzeko. Not getting the right service, positioning and all of that. But the fact is he got that space in the BL because it is a relatively poor defensive league. There are few teams with solid back 4s. And the ones who have them, usually win the title ( See Dortmund ). Dzeko is just not good on the ball. Even Berbatov can hold up the ball and make better passes.

These past two games with Carlos has made me realize that we need to stop worrying about playing to our weakest links strengths. And focus on playing to the teams strengths.

Not so much about re-sale but more to do with value and what we can get out of it. We ddont want to be buying another 30 mill striker in 3 years time to replace him. Kun cost 38 mill and we'll either get a decade out of him or get a few years out of him then get most of our money back or even a profit. Signing 29 year old injury prone players for tens of millions is wasteful

Wenger will do everything in his power not to sell RVP to City, it is quite clear he hates us and his fans despise him whenever he is selling to us.

There are many more options other than RVP who are younger and have better potential IMO.
