Fine, he's a good player.

His 'play' tonight has shown that he can turn on the style but he doesn't want to do it for us. Would the Robinho-lovers please just accept that he doesn't want to play for us anymore? This isn't based on anything he's said in the press. This is based on how he was before he left us. I don't hate him, he just doesn't want to be here. He's a good player, jsut not excellent. He does a few stepovers and passes square.

If he comes back and blows us away then fine, serve me up some nice, warm and crispy humble pie. The taste will be sweet if he's scoring again but the chanes of that happening are very slim.

prepare to but mustard on those words... as its served with this slice of humble pic, baked in the over of shame... gas mark - egg on your face!!

wait... now i cant remember what i was talking about

First sensible post i've read on this topic

*slow clap*
It might be a sensible post but nobody ahs complained that he doesn't track back. He just doesn't want to be here. Please can we accept that?

Sorry mate, but Im not having that, Robinhos entire first season and a good part of his second I was on here defending him against the abuse he got from the "tracback-brigade".

i dont see anyone on here moaning when Bridge isnt pulling off stepovers, cutting inside and dragging opposition defenders across the box.

Obviously nobody is expecting Robinho to put in crunching tackles or Bridge to pull off stepovers.

However, you would see plenty on here moaning if Bridge didn't make forward runs to support the left winger, just as you will see people moaning if the left winger isn't tracking back to support the left back.

I believe that if Robinho is playing as a left winger/left sided midfield player in a 442, he has a responsibility to provide some defensive help at times, just as full backs have the responsibility to support the attack.

There again I wouldn't play him on the left side of a 442 if he came back anyway. Either play to his strengths or you may as well get rid.

Undoubtedly the boy has quality and letting him go knwoing he can change a game in a second would be a stupid move . We have one of the best wingers in the world on our books and on his day is unstoppable , he can be quiet for 90 mins then in the 91st changes the game completely with something ingenius . he as others said broke his ankle last year and i memba seein the first game of the season when he did look sharp and on the ball then he broke his ankle and lost all form . last night showed the true robinho , memba the goal agenst arsenal that goal agenst italy that is robinho at his best letting someone of that quality go would be disastrous . Given he does have issues what footballer doesn't it comes with the job but if he came back im sure he would have a great year . if he dunt then we can ship him off next summer ;)

I agree with that. Alot of people on here think that a talented flair player does not have a responsibility to work for the team. That is nonsense. You watch Messi, and look at the tracking back, and defending from the front he does. Infact look at Barcelona as a whole, all supremely talented individuals yet they work their socks off in pressing the opposition. Ronaldo also tracks back and works hard, Drogba usually comes back to defend setpieces. Just because you're more naturally gifted than the rest doesn't mean you just stand there and wait for the ball to be passed to you (I'm not saying Robinho does that, but alot on here seem to think he doesn't have to work because he's a flair player).

Robinho is an excellent player, but he is not world class. If he wants to play for City, and is genuinely committed to the cause, I'll be very happy, because there aren't too many like him. That though is a very big "if" and I can't see him wanting to come back, the only way I think he will return is if its a last resort. If thats the case, then he can go, no player is bigger than the club.

Exactly, if he has a job to do then he should do it, regardless of whether it's his natural or favoured position. No-one is disputing that he ain't a left winger and it ain't his best position, but whilst he was out there he should have been doing what was required....or at least trying. In my opinion, a truly world class player should be able to adapt...obviously within reason. I wouldn't expect him to be playing in central defence and putting in a performance.

You only have to look at Rooney last season. He was in a completely different position to this season. He didn't get as many goals, but he still did the job the manager asked...and well.

Why is everyone licking Robinho's arse because he had ONE good game? he's a disrespectful ungrateful little shit who think he's bigger than the club,

he can stay in Brazil and play against the shit defences in a shit league if he wants, let him be the big fish in a little pond, he's had his chance, forget about him.
