Personally I'd have a midfield like this, with de jong moving alongside ireland and dropping back when we are defending, with bellamy upfront.

With this formation you're asking alot from De Jong don't ya think? He seems to be the only midfielder who could win a tackle for us...

For away's drop Bellamy put Robbie up front (he might not work as hard but he just can't be dropped) and play De Jong and Kompany in the middle, soak up the pressure and play through ball in the back for Robbie to chase, score 5 goals and win the league, it's easy this management lark.

Difficult to compare them as they do different things when they've got the ball...

Petrov goes down the left wing and provides crosses and goals...

Robinho cuts inside and provides a threat through the middle...

I'd have both in the team if and when they're both available for selection at the same time, just play Robinho as 1st or 2nd striker...

Agreed. This has been our main problem this season with playing an attacking midfield with only Kompany as our defensive shield. I feel we definitely need either Kompany and De Jong in there together or Michael Johnson back(at full fitness obviously).

If you play robihno on the left with Petrov, Petrov will just run him over!

Petrov.......great supply line,he's like a machine down that flank. The OP is right there is certainly a conflict there becase Robby is to lightweight for the solo striker role
