I cant believe someones not just had a quiet word in his ear and said "ok, we know you're skillfull but just run about and show some commitment, do the basics and then try your skill when we're 1 or 2 nil up'.

Seriously mate, have you not watched Robinho in the past month, his main contribution has been wasting time chasing the opposition to please people eith this view.

Like Petrov he was bought to take palyers on and contribute effectively attacking wise, not defensivly... do Barca fans moan about Messi not tracking back? Will Arsenal fans moan Arshavin doesn't put in enough tackles?

Teams build around one or two players; Utd around Rooney or Ronaldo, Liverpool around Gerrard, Arsenal around Fabregas, Barca around Messi, Chelsea around Lampard... It takes time to do and we currently don't have the players to build a team around Robinho and people who don't stop and think about things long enough just jump to the conclusion that because we wanted to pay huge money for him not only meant he warrented it, but he should also be a world class defender, striker and midfielder with stamina to be run across the entire pitch all game.
I totally agree with this. Robinho's attempts to defend backfired last Saturday at Arsenal when he gave away a free kick which resulted in their first goal.

I for one would rather he stayed at City - I wonder what our Player of the Year elect Stevie Irelands views on the subject are? I don't think he would want Robinho to leave the club - people need to appreciate what we have.

that's not what i'm saying, of course I dont expect him to be a world class defender and he certainly wasnt solely to blame for last night or the last few games but its frustrating for supporters and most probably for the fringe players in the team who must feel they dont get a look in when he's in the team - I'm not saying its his fault but he seems to be treated with this rule of 'he cant be subbed if he's not playing well'.

Body language is very easy to read from the stands.

I appreciate he's got a hell of a lot of expectation on his shoulders but he shouldnt be treated any different - he's currently learning that if he plays mediocre he keeps his position in the team.

It's only just now that the England squad seems to be picked with players that are playing well for their squad and not because of their name and reputation - I think we'd all like to see some continuity throughout the squad.

I can't believe it makes you a 'sad rag bastard twat' or whatever if you think Robinho has been poor for us.

Personally, he irritates me as much as bringing on Fernandes. Seriously. Completely inaffective as far as I'm concerned (yes I know he set up the goal last night, but that was the work of Ireland more than anything). I'm not part of some hate campaign or any old bollocks like that, I love players with determination, passion, and directness - SWP, Zab, Ireland for example - not this guy that we spend WAY too much on who always has one trick. Stop, slow down everything and go inside. Its not just that he hasn't scored - its his performances since the Arsenal home game that are so frustrating.

Bring back the lazy shithouse Martin Petrov as soon as you can - because at least he get the ball into the box! At pace!

Robinho is not a World Class player. World Class players can win you a game on their own, they can change a game when it needs to be changed, they lift the players that are playing with them to another level just by being on the pitch.

He's is a very good player, but he needs very good players around him to make him play up to his full potential.

For me, if he can't play to his full potential on his own, in our team which is already full of good and very good players, then he can fuck off.

Robinho is a performing monkey, he is full of tricks, but can't beat a man to save his life. At least the tranny can take players on. We can't afford a performing monkey for another couple of years. We bought him at the wrong time, we didn't have a choice though as he was the only "World Class" player available.

World Class my arse.
This is spot on. For someone who said they wanted to score 30 goals and be the world's best player, he certainly ain't showing it.

'Lets all blame Robinho'..... fucking pathetic. Was he on his own last night?

Why does Robinho carry the can for a shite TEAM performance?

Fuck it, lets just blame him for everything, the rise of communism and the banks that waste our money, heard a rumour he shot JFK, it was in the Sun so it must be true.

As SUPPORTERS we should SUPPORT.... if not, fuck off and watch somebody else.

Robinho did what he's in the team to do - he set up an away goal. Could be priceless. Do people blame Torres or Gerrard when Liverpool ship 3? Tranny when scum ship 4? No.

I'm convinced most of the negative posters on here weren't at Wembley in 99 - or if they were, were the ones who quit on the team and did one before the comeback.

I also reckon that before we win something again, somewhere along the way we are going to have to overcome insurmountable odds to do it - much like Wembley - and when things look their most bleak and impossible, something amazing is going to happen. It could be next Thursday. It won't be unless we really get behind our blue shirted heroes.
