robinho - the superstars ARE coming

this window is the 1st where we can really use our spending power.

last jan window , no club in champs league or trying to get in champs wanted to sell their best players.

and the summer window prior we only had a couple of days to work with and we got robinho!

happy days.

But when we win it's fuck all to do with Hughes, and when we lose it's everything to do with him?

not quite as simple as that IMO. we practically blew our season in two games.... the manager made some really odd decisions..... then, a player hughes has fallen out with publicly gets back in the team, we win the next 4, he is MOM 3 times, and his best mate rediscovers his top form.

who knows whats happening? but it seems odd enough to make me wonder if something hasnt happened behind the scenes.

Agreed. The mood in the camp has definitely changed. Its been fairly obvious that ADUG have been largely biding their time and letting this season run out before making the big moves in the summer and that players like Robinho have been kept in the loop - and if Robbie has you can bet Elano has as well. The managers position was always going to be reviewed in the summer unless you think ADUG are stupid enough not to want to examine all the alternatives open to them. It doesn't matter whether people think Hughes has done enough or not it was always going to be up for review. Personally I think the decision to replace Hughes has long been made but thats just my opinion.

From the day we got taken over and signed Robinho, to the attempt to sign Kaka in January it's very clear we're not messing around. Regardless of who is in charge in the summer and who specifically we bring in I'm confident the new signings will improve the squad just as De Jong, Kompany, etc have this season. The summer's going to be an exciting time and hopefully if we do get the players signed and sealed before the window even opens it means the squad will get a solid pre season to gel together before hitting the ground running in August. I think we're all going to be glued to SSN all summer!
I'll be glued to bluemoon to be honest. Sky Sports News will be a Rag Fest as per usual.

Plus they're about 2 hours behind when it comes to reporting the breaking news.

Yeah good point and I do hate that Bryan Swanson bloke.....But I think I'm addicted to that Yellow Breaking News Bar that pops up, nothing better than when it's got City transfer news on it!
'I can confirm' that brian Swanson is indeed a tit.

Can't fucking stand him, love nothing better than having to watch a non-city fan read out news of a potential world record bid from us. It's class. They always have a look of 'but it's not fair' on their faces.

Yeah but mate you can't just praise the Brazilians when we win and slag Hughes off when we lose! What you're saying is when we win it's fuck all to do with the manager and everything to do with the Brazilians, and vice versa when we lose, ffs.

i don't slag Hughes off, i just don't rate him as the future manager of our club.

i don't believe for one solitary minute that we are busy trying to negotiate with and sign world superstars whilst pushing the name of Hughes in front of them as their future manager.

simple really.

But when we win it's fuck all to do with Hughes, and when we lose it's everything to do with him?

i am not some sort of numpty that puts particular wins or losses down to the manager, i view it from the team selection, tactics, substitutions, player motivation etc.

as has been posted by many level headed people i wouldn't have Hughes in the top 20 managers in the world, we can get someone who is in the top 5 - so why not?

Mourinho Fergie Guardiola Hiddink et al will not be interested in coming to City.

Would hate to see superstars at the expense of good youngsters, I'd like to see our club modelled on Barca. Good football with a lot of emphasis on youth.
But youth takes time to come through and we don't have enough top class players coming through just now, with a re-modelled and bigger Academy that the owners seem to have in mind it will still take 5 years or more to produce sufficient first-team candidates so in the meantime we need ready-made experienced top class players.

And you know this for a fact?

have said before, the improvement in form is down to the "finishing line" being in sight for the players of seeing Hughes gone - they are playing for their futures under the new regime.

hey this is no fun, everyone's saying the same thing.

time to plant the conspiracy-theory-counter-virus

notice how all the ITK's have suddenly aligned?

notice how they are all promising the world, and more?

the rumours have been planted deliberately

what better way could there possibly be OF SELLING LOADS OF SEASON TICKETS

think about it

*taps nose*

don't blame me when you're sitting down for the first match of the season and the debutants are crouch, gareth bale, lucas neill and scotty parker

We got our season ticket packs this week, I agree bit of a coincidence for me.
