Met the guy many times and he's top drawer.
Tells it how it is and is never afraid to offer an opinion. He does consider himself a City fan as well and watches a heck of a lot of our games and lilke us all, he is desperate for us to do well and he honestly believes we are on the right track.
His book is very different from the normal, 'ex-pro tells all' as he has lived a very full and colourful life both in and out of the game. Give it a read and see if your opinion changes about the guy 'denis' its well worth a punt mate.
We are all of course entititled to our opinions, but Im lucky enought to have got to know Rodney quite well and i consider him a fate. Please believe me when i say that he is a great guy and very down-to-earth when you are with him on that level. He adores his family like we all do, he's a brilliant Grandad and kids do love him :-)
There are a few ex-City players who i wouldnt give the time of day to, most of whom were my idols as i was growing up on the Kippax & Platt Lane, so Rodney stands out in this respect, as do Tommy Booth, Joe Corrigan, Paul Lake and Buzzer (to name just 4) all of which im fortunate to say that have got to know over the last few years...sometimes i feel like I am like a kid in a sweet shop who has been locked in overnight :-)
Dont let the facade fool you with some of these ex-pro's, Rodney is just a fan who just happened to be an exceptional talent, who we were lucky enough to see in his prime at our great club!!
Top bloke in my book!
