Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

Much as I love Rodri, we are a team, not a player.

We have lost a number of important players over the years and still gone on to have a successful season; De Bruyne, Aguero, Stones and Dias, Sané etc., etc.

That's why Guardiola is paid the big bucks to come up with something out of his comfort zone and he loves being out of his comfort zone.

It's the challenge that's kept him here and the determination to fuck up everyone else.

Rodri has played far too much football over the past 2 years and was injured in the Euro final, If the truth be told it was coming and if it's a bad one then the warning signs should wake up City and Pep.

City needed somebody else to take the workload of Rodri and bring in a new signing that plays that role, Ok yes who ? you're going to ask, well that's why we have scouts and people in football working for the club. Rodri is the best in the world at his role but if we had somebody else then Rodri could have worked with him and talked him through the role and shown him how. Yes it's Bad luck and you wish him all the best and hope it's not as bad as people say.

It’s just as likely that his lack of match fitness and muscle strength caused his injury as him being overplayed.

In truth, it’s just one of those things that can happen at any time to any player.

We’ll know a bit more later when Pep is interviewed, even if he just says the tests are ongoing. His tone of voice will probably give us an indication.

For all we know, Rodri could have had his surgery today if it’s needed.
Yeah, I think first we will hear is when they confirm successful surgery later. Fingers crossed it’s not ACL reconstruction, but I think it probably will be.

Would be dependent upon the amount of swelling and range of movement in the knee other criteria such as local muscle strength shouldn’t apply to Rodri but it’s likely to be 3 weeks
I would guess if he has had it today then it’s likely to not be a rupture
Nope, it’ll be immediately operated on if it’s ACL rupture.
