Rodri solution

Need someone who is can control the ball quickly and see the pass they need to make before they receive the ball, in our sqaud it's only Gundogan silva foden but they are not strong on the ball can be knocked of it! Think pep just need to come up with a different tactics play slightly different

- Stones/Akanji step up from CB
- Rico plays roaming RB

- Kova/Gundo play the Rodri.

Its pretty simple, barring a formation change and keeping the box mid.
Unless the long term next DM player they want next summer is available in Jan (even for a short premium) and they start that project early, think we roll as is till summer and carry on as above all season.

Clearly a big blow, but we have sufficient depth and experience within the squad to cope.

There are 5 or 6 players that can cover the role. Rodri's absence was magnified last season as we had no KDB and Kovacic was new to the team.

Our problems against Brentford & Inter were being overly aggressive in the press and controlling tempo. We've looked fine in the other fixtures so far. Pep will get the team shape nailed.

It'll just be a double pivot combination between Kovacic, Nunes, Bernardo or Gundo. It'll be that while Pep sees how well that holds up. If not, Pep will add Stones, Akanji or Rico to the mix.

Get that Spanish bloke who came on for Rodders in the WC on a 6 month loan in January, pay Real S a few million. I know he loves it there but, the guy gets to experience Pep and new systems and then returns to Spain. Everyone would be happy.

Stranger things have happened.

I'm assuming that would be Martín Zubimendi. If so, notwithstanding the fact that Rodri is irreplaceable, I'm not convinced Zubimendi is the same type of player. Certainly, his stats from the past 12 months suggest he's far more defensive and offers little going forward. Admittedly though, any player will pale in comparison and that, of course, is the challenge.
