Rodri - The 2024 Ballon d'Or Winner! (Pg 131)

just watched Pep’s interview and it was absolute class. Didn’t get any digs in on Madrid, “we don’t judge others” just about how happy he is for Rodri, Spain and City.
You see I'm the other way pal, I want Pep to bite back and make his true feelings clear. I bet deep down the club were pissed off with the cry babies at Real

Nah mate, there's times when it's best to remain dignified & allow the success & accolades to do the talking. Pep mentioning Real would've only dragged us down to their bullshit petty level.

Our successes, FFP, PSR & APT have taught us when to rise above the fray, & when to don the brass knuckle-dusters & bovver boots & start kicking heads in. Last night was a time to savour, in the knowledge our enemies are dying with bitterness & blind rage from the inside out. :-)

Some genuinely believed, at least during last season, that Rodri was the best player in the world. But even they didn't expect that he would be recognized as such. A really nice surprise.

lol I think we’re talking about his first season and definitely not last season!

What Madrid have done yesterday is put an end to their interest in signing Rodri.

Which is a good news for us I guess.
Exactly this. Been really short term decision by Real. Its gonna haunt them with Rodri himself, but with votes and mocking in the future as well. They crossed a bit a red line in sports. And image of the club is so paramount in this business.

I believe in reports its been rather a Carlo call for the sake of Vinicius's feeling of support. Carlo is not going to be there very long and as so not thinking long term. As a coach hes close to the dressing room so it makes sense from his perspective. But my suspicion is Florentino Perez will quite quickly understand its been damaging for the club and at the end thats the most important aspect.

Yeah. And its not that easy to keep such a composure. To reach for a mental perspective, get rid of emotions and make a rather "peaceful" message when media overflowing with brawl.

There is a lesson in this for all of us.

Rodri didn't make the top 3 of our best players in the Treble season, and wasn't voted the best last season either. Obviously, some don't rate Rodri as the best in the world. Fortunately, many do.
last season it was Foden Haaland Rodri

What a choice to make, is there a wrong one out of them, is voting for one of them making you not rate the others?

Haaland won it in the treble season 50+ goals
KDB second
Ake third which I do find odd tbh

I would have had Rodri in the top 3 again myself but no way would I have chosen him over Haaland and all his goals but doesn't mean he is underrated in the slightest.

Haaland was robbed of the Ballon d'Or last year as well.

As I said I've not met a City fan who didn't rate Rodri.

How many votes get cast on the City website to decide these awards?

I didn't vote though I'm a member.

Fuck dignified. Were Madrid dignified?
