I think RM's pettulant and childish reaction has further enhanced the validity of Rodri's crowning as the best player in the world. His acceptance speech has made even some of our detractors pause for thought.

Rodri had 26 goal contributions for City and Spain from DM, without taking any set pieces... Must be a world record for a No 6.

There's a fair few on here who won't be looking back on their posts in Rodri's first season with much pride.

He was given the sobriquet “Plodri” and some took it up (not by any means all). I also clearly remember it being said that he had the turning circle of the Titanic.
Jack got pretty heavily slated his first season. Gundo as well I think took quite a lot of flak. Footballers are not Legomen (or Legoheads) who are just moved around like plastic counters on a board. Give them a bit of time is the take-home message. Then judge.

By the way, there should be an alternative awards world: the aggressive-walking award, the coffee-cup-holding award, the trolling-Arse-fans award (a difficult one that, very very close between Rod and Adebayor); and, new addition, the pinging-football-at-the-back-of-an-Arse-player's-head one.

Fair play Carlos. Takes a big man to admit when they're wrong. From memory, there were plenty who shared your opinion at that time. It must be a hell of a shock to the system to come into a Pep team. A case of forgetting pretty much everything you've learned up to then, and starting again. They need to be given more than that first season to bed in. Look at Nunes now, compared to last season.
