Rodrigo Bentancur

If Sam Lee is right about this it could be that we’re targetted both Bentancur and Pjanic to force Juve into giving one of them a new contract, similarly to how we wanted Ter Stegen or Bravo when they were both at Barca, and letting one of them leave.

Situation A: Pjanic gets a new long term deal on a higher wage which commits him to Juve for the next 5 years, reducing Bentancur’s playing time and he wants to leave.
Situation B: Bentancur gets the new contract with guarantees of more playing time under the assumption that there’s a path way to him getting a frequent first team role, ie Pjanic is leaving.
Situation C: Rags come in with a £200m offer for both and we don’t sign anyone.

Thanks, sounds logical for me. I reckon City are bluffing, and we'll see one more signing by the end of the window.

One has 3 years left on his contract and the other 4 years. Not sure Juve has to renegotiate just yet

This is true but if another club comes in and offer better terms then the player and their agent 9/10 times will ask the current club to match it regardless of how long they have left on their contract.

Haven't seen much of him, but looking at highlights and Juve lineups, it looks to me he is more of an 8 than a 6. Can he play as a DM?
