Going to be completely honest with you guys, I’ve been reading between the lines and I think Rodri is on the move.

The silence makes me believe it’s to us. Roll on Monday
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that he's going to us. Llorente which is a similar player and a deep lying playmaker just got presented with Rodri's number. Since before we know it's us or Bayern, and every german source says that he's not coming to Bayern. You'll do the math

Because what clothes the players are wearing in their announcement photo is a relatively insignificant detail and announcing the signing should be the priority?

So if you were paying 'x' million per year as a shirt sponsor, you would be happy if the club wouldn't wait a week & instead parade their new signings, promoting your competitor ?

No I would have them in some generic city range clothing, think the John stones cagoule, or even just their normal clothes and a scarf and then they can pose in the new kit as and when. Presenting them in a new kit does absolutely nothing extra so why would they wait to do it and lose out on marketing exposure as I said in my previous post?

New signing in a new kit gets the same amount of interest as new signing in old kit. kit launch with unannounced player gets marginally more interest than kit launch without announcement but half’s the exposure time if done separately. There’s a reason it never happens, it’s a business, and like any business, marketing is key. the more you’re in the news the more popular you become.

Why do you think city announce contract extensions separately? They could easily have announced walker and zinchenko together last week but they were a day apart, why? Because it maximises exposure and this is exactly the same principle

So why not wait until the new kit is launched & then put the new signings in it ?

I just hope there will be clear blue skies when he flies over to sign up. Or better still get it all signed in Spain.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES LET HIM COME TO MANCHESTER ON A GREY RAINY DAY.

Quite clearly you do not have your finger on the pulse of basic marketing and promotional strategies

Dreary me. Have you at all considered the basic concept of sports clothing marketing tactics? Maybe you should take some time out to do so

Very well may do mate. They usually have the entire thing planned out well in advance hence when there’s an announcement, there’s the interview, photo shoot etc all released together. it’s rarely just announced when the contracts are signed unless it’s deadline day. I don’t claim to know when it will be people are paid a lot of money to figure that out I just know the one day it makes no sense to do it is kit launch day.

When a deal is complete they will release it as soon as possible. True they wouldn't want to be putting out content with Nike/Puma changing hands but the club won't be sat there thinking "better pay for this next week" due to Puma, nor are we in a position where 3 deals are done and we're sat around waiting until Puma have released the kit to announce them all. I'm sure if for example Rodri was complete today then he would do any interviews in a retro shirt or something.

Me too I don't buy into this Puma telling us you can't sign anyone until we start the new deal with us

Announcing a 70 million pound signing in a Nike kit is insignificant?

Think we'll all find out Monday what the real situation is one way or another pal
