Roll call for 9 minute protest

The only thing bollocks here is you saying i ain't been paying attention.

But....and it is a but, I am or never been privy to what goes on behind closed doors, where as some claim they are and know what's what, mainly guessing no doubt.

My post has been highlighted by you for one specific phrase I used, you'd find it hard to disagree with what else I put wouldn't you?
You literally posted:

There has been no claims to protest or kick off when things have been as good as they have been, but the season we have a downturn things start happening like this

I've just given you a clear example that you're wrong on that point.

Clearly you weren't paying attention at that protest last season (which actually gained national press coverage).

Don't make out that we're spoilt brats because things aren't going well on the pitch, when the reality is we were protesting about essentially the same issue after winning a treble!!

And to get a bit more of an insight of things going on behind the scenes, I've just watched Youtube Big Steve recent release, I get what he's saying, some if not most of it is his own views, talks about a divide, we aren't all season ticket holders in the South Stand, but that is where you need to be to be classed as a proper supporter was what was being portrayed to me.........

There are plenty who have gone and been going for years by the way, supporting the club through thick and thin, but my days of being an ultra are well and truly behind me, but that doesn't mean I'll be in the tunnel club anytime soon neither

I'm a football supporter not a politician that's why

You're obviously not a matchday buyer.
Home UCL semi-final 2023. One of our biggest ever games. Season ticket holders were fine, but for everyone else you just entered a lottery/scramble with a couple of hundred thousand others, anyone who bought a membership had equal buying entitlement. No previous attendence required, didn't even have to be a City fan. That's what happened.

You can see how that policy just dumped on those of us going for 30+ years, but didn't have season tickets, and prevented thousands of longstanding loyal fans getting tickets, to the benefit of any event junkie who just wanted to go to a huge match? Utterly shameful by the club, and the moment I genuinely started caring a lot less. I'm not entitled to tickets, but I do expect some loyalty and respect having been there when they needed us.
I think this post is a very good example of just one of the issues. I’ve not followed all the thread but as a match going blue of 50 plus years, I’d say the following.
1 . We are now a global club and we are, like it or not, lumped in either all this social media shit. So it is never going to be the same as say 10 years ago.
2. That said, it is perplexing to me why the club is trying to extract blood from a stone when ticket revenue is such a small part of our income.
3. What is also perplexing is why a club with such expert business minds (we are in the CFG) for example cannot deal with ticketing in house. Why does it have to be outsourced to 9 different profit making companies?
4. The camararadie and sense of community and family with fans buying and selling to each other at face value or less should be encouraged. After all, the club already has the money from the ticket. To be honest, the club clamping down in this is sinister and akin to other things going on in the UK - I. dissent/protest under attack.
5. As to the protest, I’m in 2 minds. What I would like to see is a clear set of outcomes drawn up by the fans - maybe not so much demands but by framing as outcomes it might help reach compromise.
6. But also, the team needs help on the pitch and as fans that is what we always do, come he’ll or high water

I don’t disagree with the idea of us having a poor season may add to this sentiment it definelty is aiding the dissatisfaction.

I think the view we should all take is whilst the majority can afford it currently hundreds every season are being pushed away not to mention those buying a game by game basis.

If I had children would I be able to afford to take them probably not and that’s the issue, people need to start looking at it with a broader view than themselves. As I know one day it could be myself saying I can’t afford it anymore ….

It’s ten years of rises I think it’s reasonable to ask for a one year freeze minimum. If you don’t start now the matter will only be pushed even further all my opinion, again I can understand your point football is an emotional connection when it’s going well things can be overlooked, ultimately I think people need to consider the wider community.

I don’t think anyone can justify kids tickets above £35 and games like palace adults being £60-70.

I'd just leave Pride in WUMming to it...

He's literally just a shit stirrer that pops up on these threads to antagonize people. He never offers any worthwhile debate, just pointless 'banter' posts.
Really, do you want to check out my posts in this thread, you and your mates just stick to bully boy tactics,

It's sad we can't come together and are just bickering, the club can charge what the fuck they like until each and every one of us is priced out, we are fucked, fucking sad state of affairs
The price of success unfortunately.

Do we want the days of mediocrity with a stadium full of proper blues paying £35 quid a ticket. Or watch players like KDB, Haaland winning European trophies and Rodri picking up Balon D' ors, with a shit load of tourists paying near £100 quid a ticket.??

I'd rather either as long as I can have a day out with my mates and my lad and it's affordable

At Blackpool when they were trying to get rid of the hated Oyston regime, the fans split into two groups. One was the boycotters who wouldn't go to home games, on one occasion marching to Bloomfiedl Rd then going to watch a local amateur side. They would still support Blackpool away. The other group were " Not a penny more" they would go to matches and retain their season tickets. They would buy nothing at the ground and appealed to visiting fans not to buy programmes, drinks, pies etc, with mixed results. Things could get heated between both groups, I had friends in both camps and some nights in the pub, it would get like ,"What have the Romans done for us from "the life of Brian". With their combined efforts the Oystons have gone but their does not seem to be universal love for Simon Saddler. As a veteran of the " Swales Out" days I can only say be careful what you wish for.

This definitely smacks of a fine line situation, but I've made my mind up, I'll be with the picketers at 7 till 7.50pm where I will make my way into the ground, and watch the game albeit 10 mins in.

Fuck it, it might be more exciting than the match.
