Roll call for 9 minute protest

There are £30 tickets available for Wednesday still
There are, but then again when you stop attending regularly you lose the habit of going to games.

I’d also say your telling people we need you back now for say Leicester midweek or Plymouth in the cup, but we don’t need you for any of the so called ‘big games’ or games with any kind of jeopardy

So basically even though others are already been priced out, you dont give a shit about them enough to give up 9 minutes of your time, and not only that but actively hurt the legitimacy of their protest because it doesn't effect you yet.
People like you are why the world has turned to shit. The "I'm alright Jack" mob.
Fans have to right to watch the 1st 9 minutes or not..I don't agree with viagogo being given tickets to flog but you can't dictate who can or can't watch the game from the start.
I always get in my seat well before kick off and always stay to the final whistle and will be doing so on Wednesday...and yes I feel sorry for fans who are being priced out but I doubt the powers that be will give a fuck about the protest as the tickets have been paid for.
It would have more of an impact not buying beer food or anything from the club shop to be honest..but how many will forego their match day pints..

You have the right to not give a shit and I have the right to think this makes you a selfish wanker

I'm not happy with the prices, but then again haven't been for about 20 years when it became a luxury to attend footy.

I'm not sure this type of action is for me when you see where we are to what we were.
It's not like Swales Out when we were on the verge of going bust and crap.

The only way things will change is for all fans to petition and protest to the league.

Our prices are not much different to other PL clubs, top half especially, that is the problem.

It just won't happen for 1 club to charge fans a lot less than everyone else!

All fans should unite and protest but too much rivalry in football. Most fans of other Clubs will just take the piss with empty seat shite.
You may not be aware but fan groups across the country - including City fan groups - have united behind the Stop Exploiting Loyalty campaign. In conjunction with the FSA, they’ve already written to the Premier League and been fobbed off with a wishy-washy “take it up with your clubs” type response.

I’m all in favour of an organised protest against some of the club’s actions regarding ticketing recently, and will probably participate. Does feel a little bit rushed and ill-thought out to me though if I’m being honest. The impact will be minimal imo just because many people turn up late to midweek games anyway due to work/traffic, and it’s a game that will be relatively poorly attended. It’s not a high profile game and whilst I get the significance of 9 minutes, it doesn’t feel like a big enough statement. Also don’t feel like it’s been communicated particularly well either. Hope I’m wrong, but guess we’ll find out soon enough.
By making the back page of The Mail, this one has already got more exposure than the actual protest probably will before it’s even happened.

They didn’t like last year’s protest, which they allowed to last for no more than 2-3 minutes before they took it down. But it also made it to the press.

Wednesday could be one of many protests against the boardroom coming up over the next few years. If this isn’t impactful, we’ll most likely try different things over the next few years and eventually something will strike the right chord.

Maybe we can get a game stopped by throwing tennis balls onto the pitch, or blowing all our whistles that we bought for the UEFA protest for the Madrid game that ended up behind closed doors for lockdown, maybe leaving the stadium at half time of a big game will make more of an impact one day, or not turning io to a game at all in a full boycott?

That’s part of it and there are already some next steps for protest in place:

Liverpool fans walked out way back in 2016, on the 77th minute when they tried to raise the price of their match tickets, top price was going up to £77 the following season, the heirachy backed down.

Valid points about possible minimal impact due to it being a midweek game with plenty of no-shows but I think it’s important to strike while the iron’s hot mate. This is only happening at this particular game because of the Viagogo announcement and Leicester is the next home game following that announcement. There’s also a demo planned at 7pm outside the main entrance.

Bear in mind that this is an opening gambit so if the numbers aren’t great, I’m sure they’ll increase next time something is planned if the discontent spreads.

Of course, any future action is dependent on the club, and they have a golden opportunity to head this off when they meet with City Matters on Thursday. The outcome of that meeting will be key to what happens after that.

This is wrong though. At Anfield the top price for any game is £60, which is the full adult price for their Main Stand. We're charging over £60 for Wolves in SS3 and probably more for Villa.

It's £78 in 93:20 for Palace and the lowest price is £61. At Arsenal the lowest price you'd pay for the equivalent game is £43. At Spurs for their game against Palace the cheapest ticket is £48. A Chelsea Category B game is from £46 to £64.

We're well out of line with the other big clubs.

I don't disagree with that, but I think this whole protest thing has become very muddled and instead of being attached to a focussed protest about pricing and ticketing which it should, instead it been about one more a ticketing agent being used to sell hospitality, don't even know if its in addition to others or just replacing others.
My opinion the Viaggogo thing is a distraction and not the real issue.

It’s the fact that the club re sell the season tickets for three times of what they’ve reimbursed the season ticket holder that has bugged me. When I’m unable to attend on the odd occasion I give my seat to a friend or family member. The club have really lost the unique identity that attracted many of us in the first place. We all felt part of the fabric. Those days are sadly long gone, and now it’s about profit and they don’t care who attends the games as long as the said attendees spend the cash. It’s a sad reflection of modern life if I’m honest.

I want to know what the protest is about. I saw a tweet from Trade Union Blues called 'vianoshow' stating that its about the viagogo deal. I am not protesting about that. I have no interest in Hospitality seats and how the club choose to sell them. On the other hand, if it's about ticket pricing, I would support a protest about that. I am waiting until it becomes clear.

Do they though, I've bought quite a few re sale tickets and while I've paid more than the SC holder got for it, not 3 times.Maybe some do end up on ticketing sights, I don't know but plenty seem to go onto the club ticket site.

Turning viagogo into via no show and highlighting the 9 is a no brainer. If it was just a demo outside the main stand the media would not have been interested in the story.

It’s already putting the club under tremendous pressure.

They announced the partnership and we needed to respond immediately and we have done. At the game immediately before the citymatters meeting so it puts pressure on the club that meeting.

For those who say “I’ll probably go but wanted something bigger” that’s what groups are working against. Apathy. The reason we have not had bigger protests before is because everybody wants to run with their own idea and not back just what’s out there. Probably stay on the concourse needs to become yes I am staying on the concourse and I will encourage 5-10 people that are going to do exactly the same.

There’s a range of ways to get involved.

7pm demo outside the Colin bell stand meet at the statues. We are talking to fans and leafleting.

754 - go in to the seats 9 minutes after kick off. Stay on the concourse and take your time with your pint. Film the concourse and send the footage to 1894 on twitter to show the scenes on the concourse.

If the club don’t listen we continue to turn the screw.

Come off the league cup scheme. We can call for further pressure coming up FA Cup, Champs League, Platinum. You give club chance to respond and if they are not sincere we call for more scheme boycotts in advance of further home games.

You bet they are nervous. They are scrambling round for any type of PR - asking papers to go with the non story about Haaland and a mascot to take attention away from the story.

They then rush out some discounts for future home games this season. Pressure works.

If people don’t seize opportunities like this the you will only have yourselves to blame. There is no point moaning about being surrounded by Madrid fans if you are not prepared to fight fire with fire.

9 mins is symbolic. Financial action against the club you can all do that.

We won’t let up the messaging or the tone of messaging until there is a change of heart from the club. We can thaw out the messaging if they are going to change and reach out to fans.

After Leicester there are 4 more home games.

Any kind of rises in ticket prices or not making season tickets available or not changing how tickets are distributed by the club means we add layers to the protests.

You can’t play all your cards in one go though otherwise you will have no cards left to play.

It’s an attritional battle and you all need to flex your muscles. Empty seats are visible and no noise will be striking but you have got to be all in and go with this as a first stage and not go oh well I’d do something different.

Yes they do. When the demand is there.
When is that, and where.? I 'M not saying they don't but it seems all abit vague. Which is one of the issues, a lack of clarity and communication over exactly waht happens and why. I do know for certain though when the resales go up I get an e-mail saying they are available and I buy them off the club ticketing site, for the same price the original Match tickets were on sale.
