Roll call for 9 minute protest

You seem to think this 9 minute stunt is the only way to protest. The organisers had 2 choices - one which affects the team and one that doesn’t. They have chosen both.

It’s not the teams fault so why do something that affects support.

And if you think not qualifying for champs league is a consequence worth paying - then good luck getting cheaper tickets when there is a £125m non CL money black hole in the accounts with a squad with the highest wage bill that needs about 6 new players in the Summer !

A letter was wrote 7 weeks ago asking for a discussion on tickets and piss all happened until the City Matters strike and all this kicked off.

Protests are about disruption. A banner was held up outside the ground a few weeks ago, the club went and signed a 9th deal with a 3rd party ticket website.

Outside the match action has been tried, theyre still trying, there is one pre-game tomorrow too. The club has had so many opportunities to stop this happening. They do not give a fuck.

I'll reframe your question, let's say the 9minutes does cost City the CL.
Is making an extra £50 quid on a few tickets on Viagogo worth the fan upset and potential £125m CL money?

Not intentional mate. I honestly thought there were cheaper tickets on sale when a match is first advertised as open for ticket sales

Don't think that's right, the date for the meeting was announced early last week. This only kicked off with the Viagogo deal announced at the weekend.

We've been insulated to a large degree by success on the field, and the club executives have taken advantage. It's a bit like the analogy of boiling a frog. There may not be a noticeable impact in the early stages but at some point the frog is going to suddenly realise it's in trouble. And by then it's too late.

it would be interesting and - maybe more useful in getting fans on board re the protest - if you could put the costs of tickets for all areas at City compared with all areas at all other clubs. are we really worst than most top clubs? I genuinely think it would help

Sorry I meant to add in the strikes from City matters board prior to this but the club knew they were about to announce this Viagogo deal without having scheduled that meeting initially.

Do you have a point where you’d think a protest was just? Or would you say the same if they announced plans to do away with all season tickets etc?
 
The thing that pisses me off the most with all this is the front of the club to come cap in hand to the regulars or the priced out when they have failed with their cash grab targeting the tourists. This second drop of tickets and season ticket holders can buy an additional 3 tickets is an insult to our intelligence and a kick in the bollox to those who want, but cannot access affordable tickets for one because they cannot afford them, but if they can, they cannot access them as they as being offered elsewhere, i would take great delight if Soriano fucked off

Support them, there are many fans worried that they are on the brink of not being able to support their team, their team they have supported for decades, the team they kept afloat by attending at our worst. Just because you are alright Jack doesn't mean City's approach is acceptable and their treatments of fans. How did you start going? With your Dad maybe? City are putting a stop to this by introducing no new season tickets, generations of fans unable to go together moving forwards. I am lucky I got one by the skin of my teeth a few years ago for me and my daughter. My son on the other hand has no chance. We are being pushed out to maximise profits through hospitality sales and stopping proper fans from going. The same fans that helped kept that club going. If it wasn't for them you wouldn't be able to support your team so why not cut them some slack. Will you enjoy it in the next decade or two, if everyone has been priced out and you are only surrounded by tourists or nobody at all because they have alienated their fanbase? If the way City behave has no impact on you then you are lucky, but sit quietly in that case and don't preach to many a supporter who is worried about the state of our club

The date for the meeting was actually announced on Friday 28th March, after everyone had kicked off about the deal which was announced Thursday 27th March, and 1894 had implied a threat of action on their social media and surveyed members about a boycott.

That was 7 weeks of nothing from the club since they promised a date within 7 days, and also 8 weeks since the seven fan groups wrote the open letter on ticket pricing to Khaldoon. There has still not been a response to that letter by the club.

Why do you think changing Soriano would make the slightest difference to the clubs policies.

Why is a 9 minute protest on the concourse at the start of the Leicester game going to cost City a CL place?

This thread and the reasoning and arguments against the protest get more desperate and unhinged by the hour.

Seriously. If you don't support the protest, which is your right, why are you posting on this protest thread?

Go to the match and hopefully enjoy a win. Don't worry about a 9 minute protest on the concourses.

When we get to the terraces we will give Pep and the players our total support for 81 minutes + injury time.

I’m not sure how relevant that would be, as surely it’s only the prices at City that directly affect us?

That's what I was saying mate, it won't, I was responding to a comment saying that they need our support, it could cost them the CL and then tickets will get more expensive as we miss out on the £125m.

I was saying they should have thought twice about their ticketing policy if they believe this 9minutes is going to affect us getting into the CL.
