Roll call for 9 minute protest

City's protest went well, but for the game at large eventually we'll have to realise that we need to see growth at protests at United etc., this will need a general upheaval in how fans see the game across the country.

I might be cynical, but the table doing the rounds where we have much lower matchday revenue than many other top clubs is not something the board will simply say "yeah that's fine let's leave it like that then". The whole game needs to come down, in pricing, wages, agent fees etc etc. It'll need mass collective action, and not sneering at grass-shoots movements.

They need to put something in (similar principle to the kids pull through for away tickets) where any parent or guardian can get a ST for their kid(s) when they get to an age they can come

The issue of no new season tickets is bad enough for the ones stuck on FG but to have nothing in place for the kids, criminal and without wanting to sound hyperbolic, risks the actual future of the club

Milking a cash cow takes some effort, profits aren't going to be surrendered without as you say a concerted effort by all fans.

Indeed mate.

No good arguing the toss on here, more protests need to take place at the Etihad, and other fans need to do the same at their home stadiums.
 
1894 : Citymatters reps get outnumbered in the room by club staff. They had to deal with many issues & new reps joining in the summer should be under no illusions of how the club operates. Well done Citymatters reps, collective action & fan group unity has been key this season.

Of course we're grateful the Sheikh bought us and for all the success we've had it's ridiculous to think otherwise.

I'll give Simon something to think about though. Imagine you rent and live in a house you love. It's no palace but it's comfortable, the neighbour and area are great and it's affordable. You've lived there for forty years. A new landlord takes over. He makes improvements to the house and area and everybody is happy. Your rent rises a little but you understand why and due to the improvements you are happy to pay it....but every year it keeps on rising and you get worried you won't be able to afford it. You remember though the new landlord saying when he took over that he valued the community and great tenants he had and didn't want to lose them, so that reassures you slightly. The rent keeps on rising though and you try to raise concerns with your landlord but he's not answering your correspondence. Due to the improvements to your property and area it is now a highly sought after location to live. Eventually you receive notice of your latest rent increase and realise you can't afford it. You have to leave all your friends you've built up over the years, the house and area you love and find somewhere else. People say that's progress and hey you had a few good years living there after the improvements didn't you? You should be grateful. As you pack your bags and leave you don't feel very grateful, as shabby as the old house was you could afford to live there. That's it.
