Romeo Lavia

Maybe the only downside of being the best team in the world. Almost impossible for even a hugely talented youngster to break into the first team. Best of luck to him.

Romeo Lavia is close to joining Southampton on a permanent deal. City will have a buy-back as they hope that their top youngsters will one day come back to the club if they thrive elsewhere.
May be best for us if he doesnt hear from Angelino

Genuinely the only player of the buyback squad that I actually think we'll buy back. Hopefully he's good enough!

We’ve made close to £40m on academy player sales this summer alone. The academy is our biggest asset now, a steady turnover of money through sales with the possibility of the sold players coming back to City after progressing with their new club. We’re a brilliantly run club.

I think Delap will be the next one to go, probably next summer after a loan spell somewhere. He could easily fetch us £30m if he bangs in the goals while on loan.

I think so too. I just hope we have kept him long enough to meet the club trained criteria. Unlike Bazunu, who now never will.

Great team for him to develop with, they aren’t scared of youth or inexperience and try to play flowing football.

Joe shields is there now so a link.

interesting we have CFG club Girona back in La Liga after promotion but no links yet that we send them anyone anymore.
did we have anyone on loan there last season?

bottom half of La Liga aint a bad place for a youngster to improve.

Every player we’ve ever sent there gets zero game time . Very weird set up

Good luck to the kid, only concern with a move to Southampton is I am not sure how long Hasenhuttl will be in charge for, as they were crap for the last couple of months of the season.

My thoughts as well. No way they make him play in PL2 again, right? Unless Pep plans on keeping him around the first team this season.

Anyone else not remotely bothered by shifting these players on?

I think its a great bit of business, getting some fairly decent money for academy players that lets face it, are a good few years off being close to regularly challenging for the first team.

Insert a buy back, and if they fulfil their potential we come back around and take a look at them.

He will, as he joined on 1 July 2020.

He will in 3 days then. Good, better move than loaning him out last year and cutting the qualifying time up. Hopefully we see the same with Kayky this year, keep him around, give him minutes where possible and them that's covered for good.

Na that place is a fucking bottomless pit nobody ever emerges from.
