Ronaldo To Leave Real Madrid?

What do people think madrids stance on this will be? He only signed a new contract last year and I cannot imagine them agreeing to sell him unless the money is stupid, 200mil plus. i think he will still be there next season.

Marca is hardly an independent source, all part of a ploy to get him to stay. In any event he probably loves us about as much as we love him.

United will blow the money on him if he wants the return.

United are the only team in England who he will go to and can afford him.

Paris is a possibility, but I feel the French Ligue 1 just won't be big enough for Ronaldo.

The Premier League is a bigger brand than La Liga.

Hate the ****, would be gutted if we signed him

Rather win the league without him and not feel dirty whilst doing it

If China is some weird code for "buy him and let him help win us the CL while providing an exceptional example to the young wide players we have" then sure, let's do that :)

Just can't fathom why anybody would turn him down. He's very literally world class. The best of the best. I don't care if he steals lollipops off kids in his spare time and has it written into his contract that nobody may look him directly in the eye. He's one of the best players ever and it would incredible if we got him. Despite the past war of words, you'd have to think that Pep feels the same way. Working with extremely talented players is what coaches live for and he's already worked with Messi - working with Ronaldo must be very seductive.

I think we might have had this discussion on a past podcast but there's some player who, if they become available, it would be a dereliction of duty to not attempt to buy. Messi and Ronaldo both fit really into that box.

I'd also wager that a large amount of people who don't like him feels this way because he was so revered at United and so hated by us for it. If he'd never have played in red then their feelings might be different. This isn't a particular problem to me - Brian Kidd is somewhat of an idol and he played in red. So did Tevez and that was soon forgotten. So did Denis Law and Andy Cole and Peter Schmeichel and a host of others and nobody seemed to mind once they started producing the goods. united were a huge, world class club. It's only natural that as we rise we're going to have people who used to play for them and vice versa if they continue to fall. It's not the end of the world.

What would be game changing is if United landed a 50 goal a year striker. That turns them from also-rans into potential Champions overnight.

I wouldn't want him for the simple reason it would all be about him. He is the epitome of ego and not a team player. He would only make the rags a title contender if he had 10 supporting cast members of good enough quality and IMO, they don't. So it's a no from me and if he goes to the rags - so what

Don't know why this thread is still growing. The usual will happen i.e. after some time this piece of news will become less prominent as RM does the needful. Zero chance they'll lose him this summer.
