Ronaldo?

Interesting he says he would have come to City had Mou went to Chelsea, and not that he would have followed Mou to Chelsea. Seems like he was at least tempted to leave Madrid

The strange conditions he imposed on that comment depends on Mourinho going back to Chelsea, which wont happen.

As Davey said that is a strange thing to say. He's happy with Mourinho at Madrid but wouldn't follow him to an English team. Or maybe he just doesn't like Chelsea.

Seems to me he is interested in the offer- to quote the cash price of his contract is either to flatter our offer or to prep for a new contract demand, using the City offer as leverage. Let's hope it's the former

Thats the other farfetched issue. He's talking about 400k a week there which is beyond even City's capability.

As far as I can tell, they just depended on Mourinho being sacked - why does it matter where he's going specifically if he's not going to follow him?

It's definitely weird that he mentioned us specifically and not another big club or just following Mou to Chelsea, since that would have been the most logical thing to say in that sentence. Wonder if it could mean we had some kind of theoretical offer on the table.

If we take what he says at face value, the only thing that could make it different at the point Mourinho leaves Real in the future, is if Jose departs to a club with more means to buy him than we have, and more pull.

continuing your thought, that's pretty much just Chelsea, right? Unless another club generates massive revenue through sale of a current star.
