Rony Lopes

Or he's come back from loan, had pre-season with the first team and quite simply isn't at the level required. If that's the case then sell him and promote the next kid rather than block his path

Flogging him will to me send out the message that the CFA is purely about making money rather than producing first team players for us.

Ronnie has had a taste of first team football with us and looked at the very least reasonable, he's been abroad and had built up his experience and is now stuck.

He needs to be incorporated into the squad and will be worth as much give it take next summer if it doesn't work out.
If we think he's not good enough then it doesn't matter what message it sends out.

Rony Lopes will be transferred this summer. (L'Equipe)

While priority was given to an extension of his contract with Manchester City, which runs until 2016, Rony Lopes (19 years) should be transferred this summer. The Portuguese midfielder, on loan at Lille last season, has not reached an agreement with the English leaders. In France, Lyon and Marseille is particularly interested seeks a medium. A return to L1 is a possibility. But many interests are elsewhere in Europe.

Didn't we make a thing of him being promoted to the first team at City Live? If so why would we be selling him?

WTF ?

There's no doubt he will be a good player but he isn't ready yet and he's in danger Manu Garcia will overtake him. A domestic loan would be perfect but if we have to sell him, do it now so we can have a decent sell on and buy back clause.

Why would they announce that he has been promoted at City live if the plan was to sell him.

I'd be very disappointed if we sold Lopes, especially just days after "promoting" him to the first team.

Another loan would make more sense, as I think he'll have limited opportunities if/when we sign De Bruyne. Personally I'd rather sell Nasri and give Lopes a chance.
