Received this response from the FA Premier League today. I also wrote to the BBC but had nothing from them so far.

"Thank you for your email concerning the televised scheduling of Match of The Day.

We understand your concern and have taken the opportunity to address your comments with our broadcasters directly. We have stressed the need to address this in future.

We understand your strength of feeling on the matter, and agree that players should remain professional and respect each other on the field of play. We understand that the players are role models for youngsters, aspiring to play football like their favourite players. We recently produced a DVD sent to players to stress this message and to remind the players of their responsibilities. If you email us your address we can send a copy to you. The DVD was produced to support the Get on With The Game programme.

This season, we continue with our efforts with the Get on with the Game Programme to promote the Premier League's response to football's overall Respect Agenda. Our particular commitment for this was to eliminate, as far as possible, unacceptable behaviour in the game. This is a very specific aim, narrower, but very consistent with, The FA's general Respect objectives. It is welcomed by fans and the media, who rightly believe that our players are role models for the young.

This is a long term commitment and we will be maintaining our focus on this and introducing new measures. The Premier League is a crucial part of the association of interests that make up the FA, and we have a duty to constructively engage and support with the processes already underway aimed at creating an organisation that can represent the best of English football, at every level. The high standards and professionalism displayed by the majority of players most of the time needs highlighting and encouraging so the instances when standards slip are fewer. One moment of unacceptable behaviour (and we are not defending this in any way) can distract from an entire week of brilliant football. The Get on With The Game programme has the full support of the clubs, managers, players and match officials, who all work hard to ensure that passion does not boil over.

We will keep striving to the best we can possibly be in every area, because what we have achieved so far is something that English football should be proud of, but we recognise that there is more to be done.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We appreciate every email that reaches us, and understand the passion which you feel for the game and the future of football. We hope that you can continue to enjoy watching football with your son."

A polite and long winded way of saying Fuck Off we don't give a shit..........

Rooney will get away with anything, the only way he could get sent off he would have to shoot someone with a TANK, maybe not evan that.

I agree but then I thought it was a better response than the one the other guy got from the BBC.
