Rooney (MERGED)

Re: Rooney has rejected a new contract.

Smart move if he wants to win something in the future.

"Rooney has always said he has no desire to play abroad and would like to remain in Manchester for the rest of his career..."

Edit

"Rooney has always said he has no desire to play abroad and would like to play in Manchester for the rest of his career..."

Do we seriously have to start considering the prospect that there is an ounce of truth in this...and City will be bidding in January...

Times are going to run something very similar as well tomorrow...sounds like they've both been briefed by someone in Rooney's camp...

Rooney can fook off.

Not wanted and I don't believe he would come either.

Re: Rooney Wants Out...

Interesting, mainly because the Times and Guardian are running this because they are the only newspapers at the moment that comment on football and have any credibility.

Re: Rooney Wants Out...

The even scarier part of it is that City are, according to some, in pole position to sign him.

I have just checked and I have had 9 separate people PM me on this very issue.

One BMer specifically made it clear ahead of all the press that United are hawking him round to a select band of clubs.

It may be that Fergie's people are doing the talking?

Re: Rooney Wants Out...

Quite a lot of rumours from people who claim to know the family and colleen(so probably bollocks) that Rooney's 100% going and won't speak to Fergie anymore, he and Colleen aren't properly back together either.

I'm not sure, but doesn't look good at the moment, Man Utd won't sell to another English club.

Can you really see his image fitting with Mancini ?

I can't somehow.

Mark Ogden in the Telegraph is tweeting about it now- Seems they have some proper info

Dunno about that...ultimately, Rooney is the poster boy of English football whether we like it or not. I think if there's even a 1% chance of him wanting to come here, Marwood and Cook will be front and centre selling the project.

I actually think even a 1% chance is good odds. I can't see it happening, but if stories like this start to circulate more and more in the coming weeks I'll have to rethink that...

They're as full of shit as the rest of them, as far as I can tell, or The Guardian is anyway.
