Its simple......The Rags are leaking misinformation to get Rooney`s head turned. As it stands its £22 million offered.....that means after the lotyalty bonus that would be due to Wazza its going to be around a net £15 million, which wouldn`t get them a replacement. The Rags want him to put in a transfer request so that the net figure becomes £22 million. In effect what the Rags are doing is sending a message to Rooney....if you want to go, put in a transfer request.

Winner winner chicken dinner! Rooney doesn't want to leave. He wants a new contract. The rags don't want to give him 5 years at over 200k a week. So Rooney tried to turn the screw like he did before with the threat of a transfer. Rags called his bluff and using the media to embarres him and get him in line. There is no way in hell they are goona send him to Chelsea.

I think that CFC have made a cash bid, and Utd declined it, but said we'll do the deal if you give us Mata or Luiz plus cash and that's how the names got in the press i.e. leaked from the Utd end
