What I will never understand about the RSC signing was the timing.

When we signed him he'd already been injured for 3 months, it was acknowldeged that it would be another 3 to 4 months before he was fully fit again... then he'd have to get some games in.

So what genius business man sanctioned this deal?

Why didn't we leave him at Blackburn to get fit, get some games in, then we sign him in the January?

We save about £2-3m in wages, the chances are Blackburn would be desperate for funds by then and we could knock off another couple of mill... and most importantly, he could PROVE if he was fit enough to play again at this level.

Too simple? Or was Hughes determined to get him in the dressing room at any price?

Another ludicrous signing.

Might very well prove to be the worst transfer deal in our history, eclipsing even Steve Daley's tortuous 18 months.

Or even Jon Macken.

I remember Jon Macken scoring against us from the half way line at Preston. That's what prompted Keegan to buy him. I think it was on a bank holiday Monday - another away day that I can't remember that much about cos I got so leathered.

Unfortunately RSC even at peak of fitness isnt good enough to lace Robinho's boots
