Ross Barkley

He is very raw right now. Everton is probably the best place for him at the moment to develop his talents.

This. He's absolutely not good enough to start for us right now, and he needs to be starting every week. By all means buy the lad, but send him straight back to Everton under Martinez. There's really no better place for him right now or next season.

Is there any noise about the boy wanting champions league football?

Yes, he's very raw but has it all in his locker. I'd love to see him here, regardless of the English player tax.

He's a very exciting prospect and I think the best thing for his career right now would be to stay at Everton under Martinez, I'd love to have him here but he needs another year at least with constant playing time which we wouldn't be able to give him.

+1

Love to see him in a City shirt and also think it would be a big mistake not getting in quick if there is the slightest chance of Everton listening to offers.
He makes Phil Jones look like Robbie Savage, sorry my mistake there should read Lily.

Unfortunately, top clubs tend not to wait as we're seeing with Luke Shaw and as we saw with Rooney. Having missed out on CL football and being a selling club, it'll be interesting to see if Everton can keep hold of Barkley.

For City, if there is any interest, it might be to our benefit if they do. FFP-wise we'll be in a better position to spend a lot of money again next summer than this summer.

Everton's interest in Rodwell could be a way of lowering the extortionate fee Everton would want, though.

The lad is a very exciting player.

He seems to have it all. A powerful player in midfield with superb technical ability and a real eye for goal.

He is still a little raw, but all 20 years old are.

If we were to buy a young talented English player - he is the one.

Not worth the fee Everton are asking for. Wait and see on how he does in his second season at Everton,

And if he gets better then he'll cost more because they'll be even more clubs in for him,...... !
