It does for me. We'll see today if he has the right mentality to play for a top side. I know he has the technical quality, but I have a doubt about whether he wants it enough. We find out today.

You're dismissive but I bet you Guardiola will be looking at the 1st team squad members who play today who are fresh and expecting and demanding they step up to the plate. Some wont, because of lack of form, but it should never be for lack of desire. If anyone coasts, they put themselves in the 2nd 11.

This should not be a controversial point, but I make it because for me Mahrez has disappointed so far in a City shirt. Today is an opportunity for him and I want to see him go for it.

A bit OTT marv. he may well have disappointed some fans, but do you know he has disappointed Pep?

Would not want Debruyne to be in the starting lineup, give him last 10 to 15 minutes but nothing more than that. Can't risk him in such games, if risk is intended to be taken it should be for a pl game.

I see your point but would disagree. He needs to get match fitness and this is an ideal time for him without the risk of any PL points

I don't question his technical skills but I do wonder about his mentality. I expected a player who really wanted to leave Leicester to show more hunger. Today will be a big opportunity for him.

I will leave you to wonder then Marv. I think due diligence would have been done on his mental ability as well as playing ability and probably a 1001 other aspects.

I suspect our typical training season under a manager like Pep is as, if not more strenuous than a game against a team against lower league opponents, or rather teams below championship mid table.

If Rotherham were highly physical as a team that's a different matter, not sure if anyone knows here how they play.

Times article yesterday comparing the 2 managers said their fella is inspired by Pep and a massive fan of him and his teams style of play (as well as being a lookalike)

My train has just reached Sheffield, lots of City on already. Now about 200 Miller's fans trying to get on.
