I agree. We often get our names from our forefathers' professions or place of birth. How do you end up being called Ladyman or Shufflebottom?

To be fair, Smalling was only in the team because Kyle Walker was suspended.

And Walker is used to passing to Townsend, as he does it week in, week out.

Was it Smalling he leaked the story perhaps ? He's worked with Woy before and who gave him his break at Fulham.

Somebody elese mentioned Sterling and that sits more comfortably with me somehow. He's had bad press himself of late (the assault of his girlfriend and the f*ck-up over celebrating his daughter's birthday on twitter and other girls coming back on twitter asking what about his other children) and might have wanted to curry favour with a few hacks.

He also looks a bit 'precious' with that mincey haircut as well. Can just see him going livid at the mention of monkeys and especially when he didn't come off the bench. He's hardly got the maturity to see it in the correct context.

My money is on Sterling.

Who even cares seriously, this is nothing but a boring non story. We're through to the World Cup Group Stages now for crying out loud, so why not talk about that than this.
