Roy Hodgson 'Feed the monkey'

The FA was plunged into a fresh race storm after their only black board member broke ranks to criticise chairman Greg Dyke for the lack of diversity in his new commission.

In a week when England’s World Cup qualification was overshadowed by the Roy Hodgson ‘monkey’ controversy, the head of the FA must now face huge questions about the processes he has employed the look into the future of the English game.

Heather Rabbatts, the first female director at the FA, has written to Dyke to express her concerns but has gone a stage further by also making that letter public.

Former England defender Sol Campbell has criticised the lack of diversity on the Football Association commission set up to find ways of improving the national team.

The eight people named so far on FA chairman Greg Dyke's panel are white.

"I wouldn't mind if they had some black players in there, black players who have actually done something for club and country," Campbell told BBC Sport.

"Football is a diverse game and that should be reflected in the committee."

They're not wrong though are they? Especially as the commission has been described by it's own members as 'diverse'. I expect they will make an effort to be more inclusive in the future, which is why she's done it I expect.

The FA's upper echelons should more broadly reflect the wide number of players of black heritage in the game. Nothing remotely "PC" about saying that.

It seems to me that some people have a difficulty about distinguishing between what is fair and right and what is gratuitously PC.

If they are good enough or bright enough and have the qualifications and they want the job they will get the job. You can't give someone a job because of there colour

I believe Danny Mills wrote a letter to the FA detailing ideas he thinks could be implemented, although he is a tosser he showed some initiative, maybe if Sol Campbell had done the same for instance he might have got one of the useless but cushy jobs

I can think of little that could be more dispiriting to British black people, that in order to achieve equality in this land they have to be more like Danny Mills.
