Hugely under-rated imo, he's an excellent organiser of teams. He's had varying degress of success managing right across Europe- Finland, Sweden, the Swiss national side, and two spells at Inter Milan.

All this talk that a manager must have a character and personality, I can't knock Roy Hodgson he's been brilliant for Fulham. I wonder what modern day experts would make of our own genial Joe Mercer another quiet unassuming gentleman.

What's all this "under rated" nonesense? The guy is very, very highly regarded in football. It's because he chooses his jobs wisely and doesn't chase the glamour and £££ why some goons think he's "under-rated". The man turned down a big bucks, senior role at Inter last year to stay on with Fulham.

He was pretty bad as blackburn boss but he has done a great job at Fulham. If we hadnt pissed around at home last year they would be down

He was really good at Blackburn, but they had a poor start to the season and fired him. The season before Hodgson tookover they finished 13th. He then took them to 6th, qualifying for the UEFA Cup. Sacking him after a poor run at the start of the following season was plain stupid.

I agree, in European terms, Hodgson is the most highly thought of English manager throughout the continent... by quite some distance i would guess...

Use to follow a lot of Italian football and Hodgson is very highly regarded over there which is no mean feat. I think he could do a good job for us but doubt he has the persona that the club are looking for.

The guy is a decent manager but thats it decent nothing more- we need more than decent we need inspirational, imagianative and experience of running a top club and winning stuff> Rijakard, Van Gaal, Mourinho are the type. Failing that Moyes is made of the right stuff IMO

i think a term thet could be used for Hodgson is that 'he gets the best out of all his players'.. wish same could be said for someone closer to home..

Agree. Quality manager. He gets overlooked because he's just not a character, a bit miserable.
