Roy Keane: 'I wouldn't watch Manchester City play in my back garden'

Delivering a verdict as only he can in his role as an ITV pundit, Keane pulled few punches as he tore shreds of City's under-performing players.

"In the last week, you watch their performances against Liverpool, Norwich and Kiev and watching those games has been torture," stated a typically cutting Keane, reflecting on a trio of games in which City have failed to score.

"Against Kiev, you can say the hard work was done in the first leg, but there is still responsibility on the players to go and perform and when Man City are in that mood, I wouldn't go and watch them play in my back garden.

"Poor attitude, you should still have a desire to go and win a game of football against Kiev.

"The idea that City can go and win the tournament, they are all in cuckoo land."

Can't argue much with that tbf

Can't really argue otherwise, as much as I'd like to.
In fact, I wish our current team had some of his drive and determination, (and yes, a bit of nastiness), not disimilar to Gareth Barry getting in Costa's face with a couple of sharp challenges, the other night.

Lee Dixon did say that Keane's (*spit*) back garden was very large!! What does he (K) look like with that stupid 2 colour beard? I very rarely say this sort of thing but if I saw him on the street I would pass to the other side because I might be tempted to trip him up and ................................. (very naughty thoughts for an old lady EB!!!)

Don't expect him to talk us up so it's not surprising. He's right we've been dross. Fortunately football doesn't work like that though. I've seen City play excellent football and get beaten. I've seen us play poorly and win. As long as the team has a gameplan they can win the CL. All it takes is a poor 45minutes and a couple of goals away from home and a game can be won. There are beatable teams still in the competition. Chelsea have won it when of poor quality. The Inter side that won it, just parked the bus and got through. Porto weren't expected to win it. The trouble is we're playing poorly and we're also lacking a gameplan, and our bus would be like a swiss cheese!
