No they don't...... its the buildings, associated events such as changing of the guard and the lands that attract tourists. Look at France they haven't had a royal family since the revolution yet the Palace of Versaille brings in a fortune (despite entry being free)
The poster I was debating with who’s disappeared now was arguing it was the money for the buildings and land they received, that was his main gripe!
I’ve been to the Palace of The Versailles, it’s not difficult to see why it brings in so much attention.
I’d argue there’d be even more people that would go if they had a Royal Family still in there.
But that’s all speculation, France is a different country and we don’t know if revenue would still be maintained if we got rid of them.
What we do know though is that the current set up is beneficial financially to the country, or at least that’s what the accounting 3rd parties tell us.
Couple that in with tradition and our identity, I feel there isn’t a reasonable debate to remove the Royal Family.
Anti-Royalists are just anti-British left wingers who want to turn us into a Republic Socialist society, I just wish they’d be more forthcoming and grow a backbone rather than giving this vague and unfounded argument about how much the Royals cost.
