RSC. It's bite the bullet time

I'm very worried. When he came on against Wigan he had 20 minutes to run himself into the ground but barely looked able to run. Yesterday he still had a strapping on his knee despite us nursing him back from injury for months and he did not look at all willing to test it out.

Of course he's lacking match fitness but it's his lack of mobility that's the most worrying aspect. Unless things change dramatically, there's no way we can depend on him in the New Year when Ade's missing.

he spent the first 30 mins yesterday slipping on his arse every time the ball came near him and the rest of the game doing a good impression of a sloth

Off the pace, looked unfit, dont think theres to much to worry about though he just needs a few games under his belt

Exactly. Give the lad a chance! No pre-season. Only one previous start, and that was against lower- league opposition. What do you expect? He's not the bionic man!

Yeah still not match fit, but he never broke into a pace once yesterday! no fight.

Its a bit too early to write him off, particularly after the lengthy injury he's had.

He's just been asked to play 2 games in a week, having had very little game time at all this year - I'm sure if Ade was fit, there is no way Hughes would have started RSC against Birmingham having played him for 90 minutes on Wednesday.

He was terrible yesterday though - he looked like a player who genuinely had nothing to his game. No pace, no vision, no hunger, rubbish with both feet and terrified as soon as any of the opposition got near him. Thankfully, having watched him play before, I know he's better than that. Plenty of room for improvement though, which is encouraging.

To put a negative spin on that mate, I have also seen him on his game and I know that he is pacey and very mobile. The player I've seen in recent weeks is the opposite of that.

I'm not writing him off by any stretch and I'm praying he comes good. I'm just giving an honest appraisal of how he has looked in recent weeks (Scunthorpe apart).
