its been a painful summer and the messi deal and the Jules Kounde, Koulibaly, its been hard and slow

its not the money city have a bag full of cash after 3 big new deals last season and the last 3 seasons of winning silverware and titles in prize money and i think city have easy £300million to spend without FFP problems

are others trying to block any new progress in city new build ? uefa elite teams and agents maybe closing shop on new city signings ? or is it that pep is waiting on a new deal when messi is free in the summer and its a wait to see if city are signing him ?

but its bloody hard getting the players we want signed and done and dusted to add to the team and squad before the deadline is up

Mendy couldnt defend even before his injury - that just an excuse people keep trotting out that is completely wrong. He was good going forward but defensively he has always been very very suspect....its now being shown even more that teams are defending better against us and then breaking on us....but positionally he is appalling, he lacks awareness of what is around him, he cant head a ball - none of this has anything to do with his injuries - he is just a poor defender who has stepped up league and got found out.

Rodri has his positives - BUT another season isnt going to shift his deficiencies of being very immobile and not able to play as a single pivot because of this which leaves our defence totally exposed

Ruby? - Im assuming you mean Dias - I havent written him off - I asked can if he tackle, if he can defend - if so then its all good....does he have a bit of pace about him - if so thats great but if not then we will still struggle -these are questions that are valid cause its what is causing us issues at present
 
Benfica will announce Otamendi at 6pm local time. He arrived yesterday at 11pm. Dias should be announced today too. Remains to be seen if the quarantine applies to football players - if so, he can't play saturday.

The other CB's were difficult and we have been following ruby for a year and the oppurtunity came up and his club let him and us take it and for a decent price , a lot we miss out on turn out to be for the best . Messi contract in jan maybe !
