Apparently City will be paying €4m a year to Otamendi for two years whilst playing for Benfica.

Thats pretty significant chunk of the wage bill for someone whos not here.

Who cares? Think of it as part of the transfer fee. Would 100% rather do that than be stuck with Otamendi for two more years.

But its also self inflicted by giving him new deal.

It also makes slightly harder to sign players as that €4m could be used for something else.

Apparently I did because happy clappers like yourself assume being uninspired by a signing means you won't show him patience or you've already written him off.

Not as simple as that, but crack on with your mate Kaz.
Not sticking the boot in before he’s signed, writing him off before he’s kicked a ball whilst declaring I’ll be patient? If that makes me a happy clapper then yeah, guilty as charged.

Oh for sure, that extension was completely pointless. Don't make another mistake though and keep him because of it.

Haven't done any of those things. Expressing doubts doesn't mean I'm writing him off or sticking the boot in. Are you simple? If he isn't good enough it won't be his fault, it'll be our recruitment, again. But carry on.
