Dias was the only proper player we had in the back 4 last season. There was a significant lack of quality in our defence. We spent last third of the season with 2 kids from academy without any experience as LB and RB and another one with 1 season of senior football as CB.

I've read Otamendi being valued at 15m Euro's 50M + 15 add-ons + 15m Otamendi, if true thats a bit of a fiddle on the books to make a nice profit on Otamendi's book value. The add-ons could be anything, might be based on titles and cl winners.

There was a Portuguese guy here a while ago who spoke highly about Fernando and explained how he got the name the octopus. We should have seen the signs back then as everyone knows Octopus don't do well on grass unfortunately we signed him up. I hope Dias doesn't turn out to become another Octopus type signing

Value him at whatever you want, 0% chance anyone was paying €15m for Otamendi this summer.
