Having slept on it I’m excited for the signing, if only for his leadership and never having to watch Otamendi play football ever again, but the people in here acting like he was actually first choice all along is really bizarre.

Nobody on here has any idea who we were interested in/enquired about and no idea who was first choice. Up to now it has all been media speculation. I'm sure that whoever we get will be the one we want.

At the start of the window all we wanted was a big, commanding centre back with leadership skills, and Dias offers that amongst other traits. Most importantly it looks like we have gotten a deal done for fairly cheap and also let go of Otamendi. I don't see why there is a bizarre overreaction to it, fair Koundé does look good as well, but Dias isn't any worse and has more experience, I would say it's a smart deal and we should give him a chance, if he's error prone or has something lacking he can improve that, only 23.

None of us were in the room, but you would have to be dangerously naive to think we have not been trying to sign Koulibaly all summer. Or that we wouldn’t have heard about the interest in Dias earlier in the summer either. None of this matters if he’s a good player, but these are obvious facts.

Koulabily was he ever 1st choice????

No bid always agent talking on behalf but have City ever come out & said?

Giminez now I recon this kid has benn more of our target & price just may have been acceptable if they would negotiate but now COVID has put paid to that imo

I honestly think now Kounde would be a very good choice although at times last night he did look shaky but who hadn't marking Lewandowski & Muller

Dias was looked at last year & in January but went off the radar imo with Benficz just like all the others wanting City tax on top just like UTD tax with Sancho.

While the scouse cunts seem to get cheaper deals City are being bent over a barrel, i guess Pep has his opstions but understands the money side of things

I recon City have probably got themselves into a pickle here & don't know whether to stick or twist

If they go Dias they may have another player they want allowing 2 decent signings????

All guess work but none of us are any clearer only bullshit twitter accounts putting 10 & 10 together

If it was me Gimenez would be No 1 but Kounde or Dias would be OK although Kounde does lack the height at CB in the Prem

If it allows us to pull off another suprise signing ontop of the CB then.im happy

Jesus & Aguero out doesnt make it any easier
I think in January but only if pep signs a new contract we will be looking at bringing in a certain player who will take up a lot of our money .

We have been linked to Koulibaly and Dias since last Summer. We have most likely been interested in both and spoken to both this Summer. Dias has perhaps turned out to be the best fit overall when ability, price, age, availability etc are all factored in.

I seriously doubt we actually have a numbered list of players that we are interested in and the proceed to work our way down that list. We'll speak to a number of options that meet our needs and see which one emerges as the best fit.

Finally a proper source, we want the cheapest option, confirmed. Hope it works out , for some reason we dont want to spend big on a CB even if we would get quality. Lets hope it does not backfire and we end up with a semi expensive flop or one that is not much upgrade on Stones/Ake/Fernandinho.

Being a voice of doom with how the season has already kicked off as one the hardest due to an injury crisis that we are facing? Excuse me but I can’t understand how anyone with some insight can’t comprehend that we are in a vulnerable situation. If you are content with how things are progressing, you must have been happy with Liverpool taking us to the cleaners last season.
You don't buy players because someone is injured for 4 weeks. The season has begun with 2 wins and one against a team we lost to twice last season.
