Rugby League Season 2023

Gary Chambers is working with Richard Marshall as coaches at Wire for the interim.

I actually have a 100% winning record as a coach against Chambs. I was coach of a Year 10 school team in Salford about 15 years ago, he was the coach of the school we were playing, and we won.

Should have given me the Wire job until the end of the season!

The World Cup next year in France has been cancelled (Frenchies acting like they did in the 40s by retracting RL’s funding?)

It’s been replaced by an Ashes tour over in Aus.

Then in Autumn 2026 there have been two bids for the World Cup, I think it’s one from just Australia and also one from a joint bid of in NZ, Aus and the Islands.

Unusual outcome, get well beaten and climb a place in the table.

The others must be poor to still be in the top 6 after the run of form.

Wire looking at Sam Burgess now... Do they ever learn?
With a history of law breaking, drug abuse, domestic violence and drunk driving charges he seems the perfect person to sort out the rotten culture at Wire (sarcasm)

I don’t think Wire are looking at Sam Burgess. He’s just been linked by the press like around 12 other names have because some randomers bunged a bet on him at the bookies or because some of the English RL press want to get more people reading their articles.

Here are the most of names linked:
Anthony Griffin – 3/1
Paul Rowley – 3/1
Adam O’Brien – 7/2
Michael Monaghan – 8/1
Shaun Wane – 8/1
Michael Maguire – 10/1
Lee Briers – 12/1
Justin Morgan – 12/1
Brett Hodgson – 16/1
Richard Agar – 16/1
Tony Smith – 20/1
Brian McDermott – 20/1
Ian Watson – 25/1
Sam Burgess – 25/1
Richard Marshall – 33/1
Steve Price – 33/1
John Kear – 100/1
