Rugby League thread

Morning, sounds like they are having a go.. Really good support last night away at Wigan. I think the support from the local community is there, they have just been crying out for a decent team to get behind. The crowds will increase as the team improves... City suck all my emotions out of me, I haven't got anything left to invest in another team. Haha!

If they were still playing at The Willows, the crowds would be considerably higher in my opinion. The location of the new stadium is not good. I am not sure they will ever get the crowds that will enable them to maintain this level of performance.

Yeah,at my age I no longer have the energy for two teams. Salford are my bit on the side.

The AJ Bell stadium is a pain to get in and out of but they are in the process of building a relief road which will help.. My brother used to live on Weate Lane and you could watch the game from the back bedroom.. Mind you the Willows Club could have done with a new carpet, it was like walking on velcro.. Haha.. Good days though!

Haha. I loved The Willows, the ground rather than the club. Happys day there, plenty of shit times too. For a time, I lived in Monton so would walk there. Weaste Lane? Was he the Beast of The Weaste? :) That was a dreadful boozer.

I did hear about the relief road but public transport is an issue too. Most fans who attended The Willows, and I imagine still go, appeared to be from Langworth, Weaste and The Heights.

Hi mate, yes Weaste Lane (typo) ha! I was only young and didn't drink round there, don't think my brother had any nicknames haha... Maybe he lead a double life haha.

Preliminary semi final-
Saints v Wigan tomorrow night

Elimination semi final
Salford v Cas now

Salford playing well so far. Not allowing Cas to do owt

An amazing try saving tackle by Evalds just now!

Two fantastic games to come this weekend in the NRL. It’s a straight up semi final round over there.

Tomorrow 10:45
Canberra v Souths
Canberra have four English lads, Souths have three

Saturday 10:45
Sydney v Melbourne
These were the top2 in the league, should be an absolute bell ringer and will certainly be the best game of rugby of any code all weekend!

Salford heading to next week’s Grand Final Eliminator away against the loser of tomorrow’s Sts v Wigan game.

Ian Watson has done a tremendous job with a squad of players, who, lets be honest, nobody else wanted. Apart from the odd player, they’re almost all players “better” clubs didn’t want and released. Yet Watson got them to third in the table and the GF Eliminator.

No wonder he’s part of the Great Britain coaching team for this Autumn!

I bet Robert Lui is gutted

Evalds’ try saver

27 tries this season and defence like that yet he didn’t get picked for Great Britain

Salford season ticket holder here aswell as city.
Tonight was absolutely sensational!
I already miss Jackson Hastings, he’s gonna be a big loss. If he doesn’t win the man of steel this year then i just don’t know.

80 minutes away from a grand final. If you’d have told me that in February I’d have laughed in your face.

And that tackle from Niall. Christ almighty. Just wow.
