Rugby Union Six Nations 2023

Barnes has that right, I think - the tackle was clearly aimed at the shoulder and then there is followthrough from both players' momentum.

ITV commentators continue to be awful - Harrison adds no technical input but instead is a shouting cheerleading waste of space.

The French are loud and clear in that stadium. When France scored their try earlier I’d only just switched over from the footy and I thought it was a France home game.

Yeah the head contact came right at the last on the back of his shoulder.

That stand at that end at the Aviva is pathetic isn’t it?

What a first half that was.

6 Nations now by far the greatest international competition imo.

Standard is insanely good.

It may have been that the drive forward also took him into the face as a consequence but not badly - the whiplash was more showy. Mostly it looked like first contact clearly chest to shoulder than shoulder to head, and secondary contact makes it yellow - the yellow is almost automatic nowadays, and I think the big guys have just accepted that they're going to get done occasionally.
