Possibly RTE are defending a poor decision by an Irish referee.

Anyone who's played rugby or actually follows the game shouldn't be surprised by the decision. It's the exact same as a footballer being sent off for lunging in two footed/studs up. Doesn't actually matter if they make contact it's still a red

ITV are calling it very differently.
But then their pundits are merely three outstanding ex international players with a shedload of caps,so clearly you know better than they do.

Not disagreeing just a personal view,I don't think he intended any malice just a strong tackle and if the French player had got a hand out to break his fall it would'nt be red.
